Thor (2011)

Thor (5 Out of 5 Graves)

I didn’t get a chance to see this in the theatre, I love Natalie Portman but I just wasn’t put into the “I HAVE TO GO SEE THIS” when I saw it hit the theatres.  I’m not sure why, because I couldn’t stop watching once I downloaded it on iTunes.

The movie has awesome action and fighting scenes, was well written, and Chris Hemsworth plays the role of Thor perfectly.  The writers and directors did something that can be very hard to pull off as they shifted between mythical lands and earth.  I’ve seen a lot of movies that started out well, but when those characters got planted back on earth, it all just felt cheesy and cliched.  Thor pulls this off with ease, the story seemlessly flowing where it needs to go as it tells its tale.

Anthony Hopkins rocked as Odin. He can put so much emotion and strength into everything he says.

A few things to keep the fanboys happier for the next release. There was a great chance to put Natalie Portman in a wet shirt during the “Hammer Retrieval” scene. Nothing with high beams, but a bit of cling would have been acceptable.

Otherwise the movie rocked.
