I keep a pair of these Rothco OTG Ballistic Goggles clipped to my Tactical Vest. When things go bad there will likely be flying debris just about everywhere. People inside homes will be breaking windows or just diving through them, and all it takes is one sliver of glass in your eye to drastically reduce your survival odds. Then of course there is the Zombies. Even heavy plate glass will shatter with enough bodies piled against it, and if that happens I want to keep my vision clear so I can fight as long as possible. If you can’t see, you can’t fight, and not fighting means you get eaten.
When things go really bad, its not going to be just the Undead you have to worry about. Other survivors are going to be panicked, and they are going to try and take what you have. That means potential incoming fire, and that means ricochets and if your lucky enough not to be hit, debris flying from where the rounds are landing. It’s hard to return fire if your blinded by chunks of wood and flying chunks of drywall.
