Bad Gun Handling – Shotgunning Whiskey

Shotgunning Whiskey is never a good idea. Shotgunning Whiskey from an actual shotgun is just Bad Gun Handling. I am assuming that weapon is real, and was used at least once. That means powder and maybe cleaning solvents in that barrel. I use some heavy duty solvents to clean my shotguns. This is unsafe and bad practice on so many levels…

Homemade Rockets are a recipe for disaster. This is just so dangerous.

Just because you made Homemade Rockets doesn’t mean you can disobey safety rules. I hope this guy was okay because that looks like it could have done some real damage.

Bad Gun Handling – Red Dot & Cats

Red Dot & Cats don’t mix. I don’t care if that is a BB gun, Airsoft gun, or an actual firearm. This is just Bad Gun Handling. Using your Red Dot to play with your pet is just setting yourself up for a horrible accident. Even if you don’t love the animal, I’m sure your family does. Do you want to have to explain to your kids or significant other why the cat is all over your floor and walls? Not me.

Treat every weapon as if its loaded! Safety first.

This is Trigger Discipline Example 1. Trigger Discipline is the key to safe firearms handling.

FYI, if you turn the sound off this is NSFW.

So what did he do wrong? Dropped mag isn’t the end of the world – but leaving that finger on the trigger could have just killed the man in front of or next to him.

Bad Gun Handling – Guns In Public

Guns In Public are a bad idea.

Look at that girls face. She sees it, and her brain realizes she is in real danger. Wherever this is, having a gun in that press is just plain scary. If that man is not wearing a uniform and looks legit, I would be doing my best to take him down in that crowd before he started to shoot.

You can see how this could end in disaster. Wave a firearm and get shot. How do I know you are not a shooter who is about to start pulling the trigger? Be ready for negative consequences. If I see you I am going to grab whatever I can and start putting holes in you. Why? Because I assume you are about to start shooting.

Bad Gun Handling – Horse Archery Target Practice

Horse Archery really does sound like fun. If I could ride a horse it seems like a fun way to combine archery and riding.

However, there are so many things wrong here. Shooting at a person on a horse is just a bad idea. I’m assuming the person agreed to wear a target as a coat, but what about that poor horse?

This just seems like a bad idea on so many fronts.

A Finger On The Trigger is a key example of Bad Gun Handling. Keep that finger off the trigger unless you are ready to destroy whatever that weapon is pointed at!

It doesn’t matter if you are a weekend shooter or a member of law enforcement. If you touch the trigger before you intend to discharge the weapon you are setting yourself up for disaster.

Bad Gun Handling – Properly Maintained And Serviced

A Properly Maintained And Serviced won’t blow up like that. This guy is so lucky he didn’t lose a hand, and eye, or his life. I have no idea what the root cause of this catastrophic failure is, but I do know that in general if you understand how your weapons breaks down and should function, you reduce the chances that something like this will happen by keeping thing in proper working order.

Bad Gun Handling – Safe Distances

What are Safe Distances? Safe Distances are how far you need to be from another shooter or from explosive targets. Or from explosives in general. Don’t stand so close that you get hit with hot brass from a shooter next to you. Ever see Tannerite Targets explode? Being too close can end up in people getting hurt or killed.

I don’t know if this is real, but I found people saying both these men were seriously hurt.

I’m not sure why you’d ever drop a grenade right next to you, regardless of being in a boat, this is just scary.

Bad Gun Handling – Road Rage

Road Rage is never the answer. Road Rage with a firearm is Bad Gun Handling. This is so scary. Innocents could easily have been hurt.

It is crazy videos like this that make me support gun control and gun registries. I have multiple family members in law enforcement. Cops shouldn’t have to guess if you have a firearm when they pull you over or knock on your door. Violence of any sort should result in loss of firearm privileges. Or better yet, massive increases in your gun insurance. Just like cars, if you show you are high risk, you should have to pay to own firearms.

This is just so scary. Firing like a maniac through a car window. So many bystanders could have been hurt and it is only luck that no one was hurt.

Support reasonable gun control and an online federal registry. No other country has our gun violence, and its because we don’t have good regulations and we don’t enforce training.
