Saturday Movie – Divergent (2014)

Divergent is one of the books to movies that probably makes the people who read the book first a little mad. But come on, what book to movie was ever as good as the book? So now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about Divergent.

Divergent takes place in a post apocalyptic world where the survivors are broken down into very structured groups that serve very specific purposes. Unfortunately these groups are at odds with each other and under handed schemes abound.

Tris, played by Shailene Woodley ends up choosing what amounts to the “security” faction only to find that life isn’t as easy as she thought.

The story has a nice balance between action and the love story, and both keep moving on nicely throughout the film. So if you are looking for a nice action movie that will satisfy your significant other’s need for mushy stuff at the same time you want an action flick, this weeks Saturday Movie is for you.
