Spine Tattoo

I’ve been thinking about getting a vertebrae tattoo for a while and finally went in and talked to Tiff at Headlight Tattoo in Woodstown. She did an amazing job turning my concept into an amazing tattoo. I’ve had two back surgeries now and while I’m doing well now the experience has changed my life forever.

First, thank you Tiff for doing such amazing work!!!  If you live in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area please come and check out the team at Headlight Tattoo.

After she did the outline she took a short break to let me stretch. This was the line work:

Which then turned into an amazing final piece of work:

Thank you so much Tiff. You did an amazing job!!!! I can’t believe all the detail you were able to put in it. (And for those curious, that is the top of one of the incisions on my back, not my butt crack!!!!!)

Do You Feel Safer Under A Republican President Or Democratic President?

I’ve heard a lot of noise this week about who will make us safer.

Let’s review the facts…

9/11 happened under Bush, a Republican. After we were attacked here is him saying he’s not worried about Osama – the man who organized the attack.

9/11 Mastermind Osama bin laden hunted down and killed by President Obama & Clinton – Democrats.

Who makes me feel safer? The team that hunted down and killed the people responsible for attacking us.

End of story.

Pandemic (2016)

The coolest thing about Pandemic is its front cover, which unless I blinked while I was watching it – was never a scene or a character from the movie itself.

Pandemic begins with the main character, Lauren gearing up to go out on patrol to find survivors. She’s visibly nervous and doesn’t appear to have the survivor skills you’d want in someone about to go out into a world overrun with the infected – but she’s the teams doctor and her job isn’t so much to fight as to test and make sure the survivors they bring back aren’t infected.

Okay, the start of the film shows a little bit of promise but it never really takes off from there. The classic zombie skits are all there. The infected person is there, no there, there. The child is infected. People make dumb decisions that I can’t believe someone who lived into the post ZA phase of life would actually make.

The movie tries to be “original” with a few twists and turn that are fairly well telegraphed. The violence varied between well done and cartoonish and the “first person” style of filming didn’t make it more thrilling, it just left me trying to follow what the heck was doing on.

Then things thankfully came their logical concussion.

It wasn’t great but at the same time I didn’t feel totally robbed. I’d save this one for if you are stuck inside on a rainy day with nothing left to do.

Bad Gun Handling – It’s Not A Club

At first I was like cool, then I was like, holy crap, he just swung that rifle like a bat. At least open the receiver and clear the weapon. The only time it is acceptable to use a firearm in this manner is if your life is in jeopardy, and you better be sure your empty even then. What good is saving your skin if you accidentally shoot a loved one off to your left as you take the swing?

Yes, I know he pulls his finger off the trigger, and that does make it mildly better – and he did just fire a round – so it should be safe – but you notice how he looks down and hesitates for a moment. Next time maybe he works the bolt by accident.

Do the same thing every time, every time.

And that means not doing anything that could get anyone hurt.
