Come on people. Kids and guns are not funny nor cool.

Kids and an AK which fires 7.62mm ammo is really bad. It is any surprise she couldn’t handle the weapon?

I’m guessing this was overseas, but still, why risk your kids and anyone around you getting hurt. Even if there was just one round in the rifle this was still a sad mixture of bad parenting and bad gun handling.

Fear the Walking Dead, Season 2

Episode 5, Captive

Summary:

Alicia is on the other boat, being served a steak by Connor.  Captive kicks off with a strange interview type dinner. Connor’s people can’t take just anyone, but Jack had a “feeling” about Alicia.

The generator dies, which pulls Connor away, and then the pregnant girl steals the steak and bolts, which causes Alicia try and follow her, which leads her outside.  They are on a boat – but the boat is in the dry dock.

Back on the Abigail Daniel is working on the single survivor of Connor’s crew left behind – who also appears to be Connor’s brother. The kid has been run through and isn’t looking good but Daniel got the kid to spill. Team Madison now knows how many people Connor has and that his fleet is made up of five boats.

While Team Madison is formulating their rescue plan to go get Alicia and Travis, Alicia is working on her own plan, pretending to join Team Connor while Jack trains her on her new job – luring other boats in for the slaughter.

Travis on the other hand is locked up in the hold.

Travis tries to get out, which is when Alex shows up and tells a horrible story. She was forced to kill the burnt kid in the raft – and she blames Travis for forcing her into that position. Travis and Alex them trauma bond as Travis tells Alex he had to kill him son’s mother.

On the bridge when Strand is warming up Madison confronts him – pissed that Strand sent Nic to get Louis. Strand tells he she’s known Nick his whole life and still doesn’t know what he’s capable of.

As Jack is training Alicia they see the radar signature for the Abigail approaching – only its there too soon. Alicia does some quick mental math and starts attacking Jack – afraid that her family is dead. We then see a bit of flip flopping as someone this turns into Jack joining team Alicia. They’ve decided to steal a boat and run for it.

With the Abigail in view of Connor’s fleet he and Abigail make a deal. Connor’s brother in exchange for Travis and Alicia – only Chris just put a bullet into Connor’s brother, ruining any chance for the deal to work.

On the Abigail Nick and Ofelia are cleaning up after Chris put a bullet into Connor’s brother only for the kid to turn. Chris is apparently a wanna be Storm Trooper and failed to hit his target from a few feet away. This does however give Daniel an idea. I guess it makes sense – Connor’s brother can walk better now.

Daniel preps the kid, putting a bag over his his – which apparently causes Daniel to have some flash backs to his “worse” days when he was a professional torturer.

Things are in motion. Madison has the walker in a dingy and is taking it to trade for Travis and Alicia – while back on the dry dock boat Alicia has slipped free to go get her father. Only the pregnant girl finds her before she finds her dad and a brief fight breaks out before Alicia forces the pregnant girl into one of the cells.

Alicia ends up on top of the dry dock boat right as Madison uses her zombie hostage exchange to surprising effect. She rescues Travis before Alicia ends up in the water so her mom and Travis can pick her up.

The episode ends with Alicia breaking Jack’s heart and Madison bringing her family back together on the Abigail.

Things I loved about this episode…

• The pregnant lady stealing Alicia’s steak right after Alicia took the first bite.
• The realization that Strand cutting the rope that held Alex’s boat to the Abigail actually lead to the takeover. If he hadn’t cut the rescue raft loose Connor’s raiding team wouldn’t have found them because Alex wouldn’t have been there to tell them about the Abigail.

Things that I didn’t like about this episode…

• Connor’s brother who got run through is way to with it. He’d be in so much pain.
• Why is Chris allowed to have a gun? He jumped into the water a few episodes ago and he’s been acting a bit mad and crazy. I know he said he got it from one of the dead pirates – but still.
• Alicia double racked her gun in the boat – which would have wasted a round in real life.

Main Characters:

• Nick Clark – Starts the season off by finding his girlfriend turned into a walker in a church. Has a addition problem.
• Alicia Clark – Nick’s sister. Has already lost her boyfriend to the virus.
• Madison Clark – Mother to Nick and Alicia. She worked at the high school where she met Travis Manawa, her boyfriend.
• Travis Manawa – School teacher and Madison’s love interest.
• Chris Manawa – Travis’s son.
• Daniel Salazar – The Barber who shelters Team Travis in Episode 2.
• Ofelia Salazar  – The Barber’s cute daughter.
• Strand – The Instigator who Nick met in the detention center in Season 1, Episode 5.
• Jack the Radio Dude – Alicia’s radio boyfriend.
• Connor – Jack’s boss and the leader of the boat pirates.
• Louis – Strand’s friend. The one who was going to get Strand into Mexico.
• Alex – Female from flight 462 plane shorts.

…

…

This is why you don’t leave your container of black powder out on the bench when your shooting. It just takes a single spark and things get ugly. If your lucky you just lose your eye brows, if your not you maybe start a fire or start cooking off other nearby ammo.

In any case, be careful, think before you shoot and always wear protective glasses when shooting – which this guy wasn’t. Hopefully he didn’t burn his eyes or get black powder dust in them.

She starts out angry then gets super creepy…

Come on, it’s not fair that so much talent exists in one family….

That brass goes down her shirt and she panics, both her hands immediately coming back to her chest. She easily could have squeezed the trigger again and shot someone next to her or even herself.

The lesson here is where the right clothing. If your a lady and you are going to be shooting a semi auto -wear a shirt that doesn’t make your cleavage a hot lead repository.
