This is sad on a lot of fronts. I believe the gentleman lost a finger, and his job, and that just sucks.
How do you keep this from happening to you?
Each time, every time, make sure the weapon is clear when you pick it up.
Never point a firearm at anything you don’t intend on destroying.
Always assume every firearm is loaded, no matter what.
