Almost Snowing Clays

It was pretty cold out this morning but with multiple layers on I wasn’t feeling the cold. It was the first time I’ve been shooting since I had another epidural for back pain, so I was  a bit rusty, but one of my buddies went with me who hasn’t shot clays in months, so that helped my self esteem.

He was ten minutes late and didn’t notice what name I’d given him until we were almost done. And you can see we both did a lot better on the intermediate course (top 50) than the hard course we finished up with.

Date Benelli M2 Rounds Fired Comment
09/14/2014 120 First clays of 2014 season.
10/05/2014 120 Solo day.
10/10/2014 110 A bit cloudy, but a beautiful day.
10/19/2014 120 I kicked butt on the beginner/intermediate stations but got my butt kicked by the rabbit.
10/25/2014 6 First duck hunt of the season. Got 1 wood duck using Kent FastSteel #4.
11/09/2014 100 Took Ry and Jonathan out to practice. Was a mild and very nice day.
11/29/2014 120 Did a quick practice round. My back was hurting a bit though. Time to go back to the Doctor.
12/14/2014 200 It was in the 40s today and really nice out. There was a tournament going on at M&M but my oldest is very new to clays so we stuck to the beginner course and had a ball.
12/20/2014 120 Ry and I had a morning round of clays. The temps were in the mid 30’s so I was glad I had a warm hat.
12/27/2014 220 It was a beautiful warm day. Which sucked because it was fairly busy today at the range. I would have preferred it to be bitterly cold so I had the place to myself. I know, I know. I’m such a people person.
1/3/2015 125 It was just above freezing and drizzling. It was so nice to have the course pretty much to myself.
1/11/2015 164 It snowed earlier in the week so it was nice to walk around in the snow covered woods and bust some clays with Tyler and Jesse.
2/1/2015 125
Total: 1430
It was cold and I actually saw some snow flurries today, but I didn’t get the blizzard I was hoping for. Vaughn shot a 39/100 (First time out in weeks) – and I shot a 56/100.

Smoke Screen Activated

I’ll always remember the first time I saw an M1 Abrams. I was standing on top of  hill at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and it came flying up not three feet from me. It was amazing how quiet the damn thing was. For its size you expect them to be louder.

And then of course there is its load out. This looks cool but doesn’t really do it justice. If you have a platoon of tanks all popping smoke they basically blot out their view behind the smoke. I’m not sure what the dark smoke is below, I only ever saw white which also had some agent in it to block thermal imaging.
