I will always remember where I was that morning when Flight 1549 landed in the Hudson. I remember feeling happy that everyone survived, and more selfishly, lucky that I wasn’t aboard.
I travel a lot for work, and while the worst thing I’ve ever had happen on a plane involves another passenger with explosive diarrhea in a seat in front of me, I always get a little knot in my stomach when we are taking off or landing – because I read those are the most dangerous times of any flight. I always wonder if I had survived this if I’d ever got on a plane again?
I hope all the survivors are happy and safe today as the look back on the events of 10 years ago.
