This Rain Poncho is a must have bit of Wet Weather Gear. It packs up small, and has a ton of utility. Its most obvious use is during the pouring rain. It can keep you dry. That can can make the difference if you are out on the trail for days. Being wet leads to being cold, and that is dangerous. The wet just sucks the heat out of your body. Thankfully you are going to be prepared for long rainy days with this Poncho.
This Poncho fits over your Backpack, which means it can keep you and your gear dry. It also makes for a rain fly if you need to stop to rest. I obviously keep one of these Ponchos with my go gear and my Camping gear. I keep two in my vehicle. The first is Orange in case I need to stop and help someone in the pouring rain on the highway. Pre disaster I don’t want to get clipped by a car in the rain while changing a tire. Post disaster I like the Deep Gray and Green colors to fade into the background.
At this price point you can afford to have several Ponchos in different colors. The Orange is obvious for pre disaster times while some of the other colors may be dictated by what type of terrain you are in.
