This Recurve Bow is both fun to shoot and a great way to put food your table. Yes, I know I could have picked a compound bow, but I just prefer the Recurve design. Let the arguments begin. When it comes to survival I like a Recurve over a compound bow as it has less moving parts, and I can unstring them for long term storage or to make transporting them easier.
Sure, a compound bow may have extended range, but they also take more experience to use in my opinion. It is much easier for new shooters to pick up a Recurve Bow and be semi effective when compared to a compound bow.
When it comes to quickly and quietly taking down the game and other threats, nothing beats a good Bow.
Recurve Bow
This Bow can have a moderate impact on your survival. It scores a 365/1000.
There are two reasons it ranks below the Mossy Oak Crossbow. The first is that it takes more room to use. It’s hard to lie in cover and shoot a Bow. There is also a limit to how long you can hold a bow string at the ready. Eventually you will get tried and have to let the tension go. The second reason is the skill it takes to fire. A skilled archer can put an arrow wherever he wants – but that skill is hard to come by. A Crossbow on the other hand can be mounted with a scope and takes much less skill to use. That gives it a higher ranking compared to this Bow.
