Bad Gun Handling – Makeshift Holsters

There is no such thing as a Makeshift Holsters. Anything not built to be a holster is just an accident waiting to be happen.

Don’t do this.

Buy a holster made for your firearm, making and using Makeshift Holsters is very dangerous. Yes, I am aware he’s probably joking and using that accessory pad as a joke. It doesn’t matter. Someone who isn’t aware may think this is a good idea. It is not.

Guns are not toys. Guns are not props for photo shoots. They are dangerous tools. Mishandle them and people will end up hurt.

Why do I show these videos and pictures? Because I like to go to the range and every one of these videos gives the non shooting public a bad impression of the total shooting community.

Always follow the four basic rules of Gun Safety:

  1. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Treat all guns as loaded at all times.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
  4. Always be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

This is a clear violation of Rule 2.

Bad Gun Handling – Blanket Spotter and Butt Bipod

A Butt Bipod is not a proper way to stabilize your rifle! Heaven forbid that thing goes off. The shooter could get pink eye.

In all seriousness, this Blanket Spotter and Butt Bipod are just not how you should be handling firearms. Yes, I know its a joke. The problem is that some other novice shooter may not. it also makes us all look like a bunch of jokers.

Not safe, what else is there to say?

Bad Gun Handling – Improvised Bipod

An Improvised Bipod can be dangerous. Use the proper gear, and maintain it well. God only knows how poorly put together that bipod is.

I tell my boys to treat every interaction with a firearm like your meeting your girlfriend’s mom for the first time.

Be on your best behavior, and if your not sure if its safe to do or so, don’t.

Guns aren’t toys, and while these guys were prob laughing, it’s not an image of gun culture that promotes our overall goals. Safe, legal, appreciation of the sport.

Bad Gun Handling – Headshots

This is not how you take Headshots. This is Bad Gun Handling and could end up getting someone killed. Don’t do this!

There are fingers on the triggers! With a twitchy finger this guy will get his Headshots spread all over the walls. This is just scary on so many levels.

I can’t even begin to say how dangerous and bad this is. Guns pointed at a head, fingers on triggers…

Bad Gun Handling – Shooting Yoga

Shooting Yoga with no eyes, and no ears is not a great way to practice. Put on protective gear, and do your yoga when you leave the range!

Shooting Yoga sounds cool but could end up in disaster. Do your yoga. Then go to the range. Combining both is just Bad Gun Handling.

Sure it might look cool, but when you are handling a firearm all your attention should be on the weapon – not on how well you are balancing.

Bad Gun Handling – Pre Check

Pre Check Those Weapons! Always make sure your gear is in working order before you need it. Thankfully this looks like it was just target practice, although that barrel is now at the bottom of the ocean. For reference, the US military pays between $6k and $9k for each M240, depending on options. That is a lot of cash. That looks like the short barrel version to me. On the civilian market that runs $1500 just for the barrel! Not doing a pre check of that weapon is going to cost someone a good bit of cash.

Bad Gun Handling – Dumb Guns

How can you show your Dumb Guns level better than pointing a firearm at your own junk? You are full fledged out of your mind!

Guns are not toys, but if a few of these morons pull the trigger at least they won’t reproduce?

The more I think about this, maybe the MAGA crowd should embrace this trend. It seems like it will fix a lot of things in the Republican Party in a generation or two. I used to be a devout right wing fiscal conservative, but Trump turned the GOP into the party of hate in my opinion.

Bad Gun Handling – No Holster Big Danger

No Holster means Big Danger. How easy would it be to accidentally pull the trigger while trying to get that weapon free? Bad Gun Handling!

No Holster means Big Danger!!!

What could possibly go wrong with a belt through the trigger guard?

Obviously this is a very bad idea, it clearly qualifies as Bad Gun Handling. Homemade holsters are a great way to lose a toe or a foot. Or worse, maybe you kill someone. Don’t do this!

Bad Gun Handling – Bulletproof Vest Practice

Bulletproof Vest Practice is a bad idea and a huge example of Bad Gun Handling. Don’t get drunk and start testing ballistic gear!

Bulletproof Vests & Alcohol don’t mix. Just because one of them strapped on a vest doesn’t mean they were being smart in the slightest. They are both lucky their little game of Bulletproof Vests & Alcohol didn’t leave one of them dead and the other in prison for man slaughter.

These guys are just lucky they survived.

Clearly this is a violation of Rule 1. Shooting your buddy is not safe. I don’t care if he strapped on a vest first. I get it. You get curious. Will this vest really stop a bullet. Go buy a gel torso and strap your vest to that. Shooting at your buddy is not the way to test if the vest is going to work or not.

Bad Gun handling – Testing BulletProof Vests

Self Testing BulletProof Vests is just Bad Gun Handling. This is scary. Don’t do it. You could kill your friend!

I can’t believe I even need to say this, but don’t test your body armor.

Especially when drunk.

Each time it is hit it gets weakened and of course you have the risk that your buddy is going to miss the panel.
