Backpacking Rain Fly

This Lightweight Backpacking Rain Fly is a year round piece of gear. Its a sun shade, its a rain fly, and it blocks the cutting wind in the dead of winter. If you have a smaller cabin, I would stock up on these Lightweight Camping Rain Flies as they let you expand out onto the ground around your cabin while still offering some degree of protection from the elements.

Because this Fly is so light and portable it only makes sense to keep one in your pack. I take one hunting with me as well. Add some branches and I have a nice shelter to sit and weight for the sun to come up so I can pull some ducks out of the air. Yes, I eat them. I don’t believe in shooting anything I don’t eat – at least when it comes to wild animals.

When I hiked a lot I never took a a tent unless it was sub zero temps. I would just bring this Backpacking Rain Fly and a sleeping bag. I never had any issues and it saved me weight and room to carry other gear. Or just more food so I could stay out longer.

Backpacking Rain Fly Scoring

This Rain Fly is going to have more or less impact on your survival depending on where you live and what time of the year it is. Don’t let the moderate survival impact score full you, it is a must have if you are going to do any hiking to your bolt hole. It scores a 208/1000.

This Hunting Tree Stand is an awesome survival tool. Do you want to eat after a disaster leaves infrastructure destroyed. How are you putting food on the table? This Tree Stand is a tool to help you keep putting mean on the table.

Of course you can use it for its intended purpose to hunt for food after all the grocery stores are picked over. This Hunting Tree Stand is also a great security platform too. Once disaster sends us back a few hundred years you will be glad those guards can see what’s coming and alert your camp.

They are also a great way to get off the ground to protect yourself from rising water. That also helps if you are about to be surrounded by Zombies and don’t have any other options. You just have to hope you have enough ammunition to clear the area – or have a rescue on the way.
