Bad Gun Handling – Bipod Girl

Sure, being a Bipod Girl sounds cool. At least until you get third degree burns on your crotch. Then its not so funny anymore.

I hope and pray this was done as a joke. The problem is that accidents happen. Maybe he thinks he cleared the rifle and didn’t? What if he pulls the trigger

What happened to that golden rule about treating every weapon like its loaded?

uns are not toys. Guns are not props for photo shoots. They are dangerous tools. Mishandle them and people will end up hurt.

Why do I show these videos and pictures? Because I like to go to the range and every one of these videos gives the non shooting public a bad impression of the total shooting community.

Always follow the four basic rules of Gun Safety:

  1. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Treat all guns as loaded at all times.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
  4. Always be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

This is a clear violation of Rule 2.

Bad Gun Handling – Accidental Discharge

This Accidental Discharge is a direct result of not following rules one, two and three! Don’t play with firearms! I really hope no one was upstairs when this happened.

This fellow forgot the golden rule. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.

He then pumps the shotgun with the trigger held down, which is what we call a slamfire where I am from.

Be safe out there.

Bad Gun handling – Scary AK Play

This is some Scary AK Play. It would be so easy for someone to get hurt. I can only hope those AK’s aren’t loaded. If they are that just makes this a hundred times more dangerous.

AK’s and dual piggy back rides don’t mix…ever.

Bad Gun Handling – Gun Pillow

A Gun Pillow is never a good idea. It could lead to disaster on so many levels. The actual pillow here could be ruined!

I get it. This solder was tired and just wanted to catch a few moments of rest. Yes, I see there is no magazine in the weapon. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a round in the chamber though does it?

Mmm, there has to be a better way to stow that gear right?

Bad Gun Handling – Beer And Guns

Beer And Guns do not mix. Ever. End of story. Go shooting, then enjoy a bear. After. Put on a wedding dress if you want! You know, if you are feeling pretty.

just don’t mix guns and booze at the same time. It makes all responsible gun owners look bad.

Beer And Guns don’t ever go together, especially at a wedding?

Bad Gun Handling – Muzzle Swept

Being Muzzle Swept is a scary thing. Triply so if its a new shooter who may not have good trigger discipline either.

I don’t blame her, someone put a very dangerous rifle in her hands, and didn’t give her proper instruction.

Or at least that’s what it looks like to me.

Be careful out there…

Bad Gun Handling – Doggy Style

Doggy Style is not cool when it comes to handling AKs. Clearly that is way too much weapon. It is Bad Gun Handling. I would start him out with a much smaller caliber than 7.62.

No matter how much they beg, its never okay to let your pets use your firearms.

In all seriousness though. Guns are not props for photos. It might look cute, or funny, but it sends the wrong message. Guns are not toys.

Bad Gun Handling – Boom

When a gun goes Boom it is not good for anyone nearby. This is just scary. I hope the shooter is okay. Very scary!

This scares the hell out of me.

I don’t know exactly what caused this, so I’m sorry if this turned out to be a freak accident due to bad gunsmithing or commercial ammo manufacturing.

So why did I include it here. Because there are a few causes that are more likely, and those are all user associated.

Did he set it barrel down? Is there debris stuck in the barrel?

Did he load is own ammo and was it over pressure?

Is the weapon well maintained? Is this the 100,000th round and the gun’s never been cleaned?

The bottom line, be careful so things like this are less likely to happen to you.

Bad Gun Handling – Explosive Targets

Explosive Targets can be deadly. Use them as designed and make sure you are a safe distance away. Any debris is going to become flak!

This guy is lucky he had time to dodge the projectile kicked back at him. This is what makes shooting explosive targets so dangerous. Make sure you are shooting from cover, there are no loose objects around to become shrapnel, and you are a good, safe distance away before you pull the trigger on a reactive target down range.

Be safe, be careful…

Bad Gun Handling – Belly Holster

The Belly Holster is not a thing. Don’t do it. It is Bad Gun Handling. Who wants belly jelly in their receiver? (Don’t google that.)

There are two major issues with this footage.

The first, and maybe the scariest is that the shooter on the left is behind the shooter on the left. All it would take is a little distraction and a round could be heading for his buddy.

The second thing wrong with this movie is that you should never use your gut as a holster. Ever. End of story.

So many chances for something to go horribly wrong here.

Stay say out there.
