Bad Gun Handling – Blanket Spotter and Butt Bipod

A Butt Bipod is not a proper way to stabilize your rifle! Heaven forbid that thing goes off. The shooter could get pink eye.

In all seriousness, this Blanket Spotter and Butt Bipod are just not how you should be handling firearms. Yes, I know its a joke. The problem is that some other novice shooter may not. it also makes us all look like a bunch of jokers.

Not safe, what else is there to say?

Proper Grip and Stance

Guns are not toys. Guns are not props for photo shoots. They are dangerous tools. Mishandle them and people will end up hurt.

Why do I show these videos and pictures? Because I like to go to the range and every one of these videos gives the non shooting public a bad impression of the total shooting community.

Always follow the four basic rules of Gun Safety:

  1. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Treat all guns as loaded at all times.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
  4. Always be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

This is a clear violation of Rule 2.

Bad Gun Handling – Improvised Bipod

An Improvised Bipod can be dangerous. Use the proper gear, and maintain it well. God only knows how poorly put together that bipod is.

I tell my boys to treat every interaction with a firearm like your meeting your girlfriend’s mom for the first time.

Be on your best behavior, and if your not sure if its safe to do or so, don’t.

Guns aren’t toys, and while these guys were prob laughing, it’s not an image of gun culture that promotes our overall goals. Safe, legal, appreciation of the sport.

Bad Gun Handling – Pre Check

Pre Check Those Weapons! Always make sure your gear is in working order before you need it. Thankfully this looks like it was just target practice, although that barrel is now at the bottom of the ocean. For reference, the US military pays between $6k and $9k for each M240, depending on options. That is a lot of cash. That looks like the short barrel version to me. On the civilian market that runs $1500 just for the barrel! Not doing a pre check of that weapon is going to cost someone a good bit of cash.

County Sports, LLC Review

County Sports is a small local shop that feels like they can treat their customers like crap because the next dealer is 10 miles away!

If you live in South Jersey or buy from Gunbroker, be careful of doing any business with County Sports LLC in Salem county New Jersey.

One of my readers sent me the transcripts of their sale and interaction with the company. All I can say is that I am appalled.

My reader bought a thousand rounds, and asked to confirm a pick up time for the ammo.

No response from vendor. I get it. They are a tiny shop, I get it. That doesn’t mean you can just wait weeks to respond though.

The reader was then exposed to Coronavirus and was going to be on quarantine for at least 14 days. They messaged the vendor multiple times with no response.

County Sports then opened a ticket saying they couldn’t ship, and cancelled the sale, and then immediately relisted the item at a huge price hike. I tell everyone in my neighborhood to skip County Sports, they aren’t a decent vendor in my opinion.

Country Sports won’t respond to requests for information and doesn’t appear to be an honest business.

Buyer beware.

As always wear good Safety Gear and learn the proper skills to shoot safety!
