Bad Gun handling – Roller Skates and Guns

Roller Skates and Guns do not go together. There is no way this is real right? I want to know who pitched the Roller Skate Seals? Is there anything they can’t get approved? Roller Skates are pretty much guaranteed not to be a stable shooting platform. What happens when you slip and fall? I think the natural instinct would be to grab at things. Maybe pull the trigger a few times as you fall.

Yeah, I’m going to just say this is a bad idea…

Someone please tell me this is fake.

Guns are not toys. Guns are not props for photo shoots. They are dangerous tools. Mishandle them and people will end up hurt.

Why do I show these videos and pictures? Because I like to go to the range and every one of these videos gives the non shooting public a bad impression of the total shooting community.

Always follow the four basic rules of Gun Safety:

  1. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Treat all guns as loaded at all times.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
  4. Always be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.

This is a clear violation of Rule 2. Roller Skates and Guns do not go together.

Bad Gun Handling – Bye Break Lights

If you are not careful with your firearms you might just be saying Bye Break Lights! Don’t destroy your vehicle, be careful out there! If you are shooting a rifle with such obvious muzzle breaks I’d be a bit more careful with that muzzle.

This really is a great demonstration of why you need to think about what is around you and make a conscious decision to stop, think about safety, and then act accordingly.

Lucky for this guy it was just a turn signal.

This is a clear violation of Rule 1. The fact that there was property damage is a clear indication this firearm wasn’t pointed in a safe direction. Or maybe you would rather say Bye Break Lights!

Bad Gun Handling – Shoe Guns

Shoe Guns are just Bad Gun Handling. This is scary, dangerous, and just a bad example of how to handle firearms. On top of that the guy is wearing Crocs. Crocs and guns don’t mix!

This seems like a good way to lose a toe or two:

Bad Gun Handling – 12G Pistol Grip Edition

Today’s edition of Bad Gun Handling is brought to you by the 12G Pistol Grip. It is not for novices. Don’t hand novices a pistol grip shotgun!

Supervision and training are so important to a shooters safety, and their growth and enjoyment of the sport. Don’t hand new shooters a pistol grip 12G.

Just don’t…

This is a clear violation of Rule 2. Handing a novice shooter a 12G Pistol Grip shotgun is just asking for trouble. Start with a full rifle. For smaller shooters I start with a .410 shell. Then we progress to a 20G. If they can handle that I’ll move on to the 12G rifle. Finally, and maybe, I’ll introduce the a pistol grip shotgun.

Bad Gun Handling – One Handed 12G

Dentists love this One Handed 12G trick that earns them millions every year. Or, you could be smart and not do this.

How many ways is this bad?

No shirt on to protect him from hot brass.

Those sunglasses do not look safety rated to me.

The kid with the phone looks like he may be even with or in front of the shooters position, putting him at risk if something goes wrong.

And of course, shooting a 12 g with an arm outstretched is just asking fir trouble.

I hope he was okay and didn’t lose a tooth. That looks like it hurt.

Bad Gun Handling – Loaded Weapon

Do not play with a Loaded Weapon. When you handle a firearm and don’t treat it with respect you put you and everyone around you in danger.

I have no idea where this video was taken, but it appears there is a bar or café behind him, and this guy is playing with a loaded weapon?

I really hope this is fake, but if its not this is just so wrong. Who handed him a loaded weapon? Why wasn’t he trained at a range to handle it safely so café pops like this don’t happen?

So scary….

Bad Gun Handling – Proper Grip and Stance

Proper Grip and Stance is the first thing I go over when teaching a novice shooter. They practice with an unloaded weapon first! I hope that weapon is empty and they are about to teach her the right way to handle that firearm.

This is not her fault, and I’m hoping she is just trying to figure out her sight picture, but if that gun is loaded, this is really scary because it is going to end up hitting her in the forehead if she’s lucky, and end up going off again when its pointing there if she’s really unlucky.

Bad Gun Handling – Booze, Bikinis And Guns

Booze, Bikinis And Guns don’t mix. Mixing them is a sure fire way to end up in an emergency department. This will end in someone getting hurt!

I’m really hoping that is an airsoft gun, because if not, this is just so scary. Alcohol and guns don’t ever go together. Booze, scant clothing, and hot brass just make the odds of this going horribly wrong even higher.

Bad Gun Handling – Burnt Parts

This is a really bad way to end up with Burnt Parts. The parts that are about to get burnt up are what people call sensitive. Don’t do this!

Yes, I know this is likely staged and he’s not about to pull that trigger on a life round. But I’m not 100% sure. And it doesn’t matter. This is still a bad example of how to handle a firearm responsibly.

So bad for so many reasons.

Bad Gun Hanlding – 40 in the Restroom

Pulling out your 40 in the Restroom in just Bad Gun Handling. Pistols aren’t toys. They aren’t props. Treat firearms with respect. Best case this ends up with a shattered mirror. Worst case the round hits someone and kills.

Sure, she was at least pointing it at the mirror, but there could be people on the other side of that wall and who knows if the wall would stop that round?

Guns are not toys. Don’t play with them.
