Overhead Garage Storage Rack

This Overhead Garage Storage Rack is the perfect way to expand my storage space and use space that is otherwise wasted! I use these Overhead Garage Storage Racks at my “everyday” house as well as at my bolt hole, especially bulky items. That means my huge stockpile of TP and paper towels are out of the way, but easy to get to. Travel Underwear

I love these Travel Underwear. I’ve worn them on multiple continents including on extremely hot days in India. They are comfortable and light, and wash up well in a sink. Quick-Dry UV Protection Shirt

This Quick-Dry UV Protection Shirt is nice enough to wear just about anywhere, but it is also designed to be comfortable in the hottest weather. The back air vents keeps the air moving and helps me stay cool by letting air flow evaporate sweat off my body. If I’m not moving through brambles or need the sun protection, I can unzip the sleeves. So if you are in the shade this becomes a short sleeved shirt in a few seconds.

I own the field next to my house and I usually mow up to my neighbors house along that side as the grass grows really fast there. They are two very nice women and they only have a push mower. My tractor can do what might take them an half hour in two passes. This Shirt and my Bucket Hat have saved me from so many sun burns while mowing.

It also my go to for hitting my buddies range. He owns a nice chunk of what is pretty unusable property. It is hilly and rocky and has very sparse tree cover. This Quick-Dry UV Protection Shirt is what I wear to go stand in the sun and plink. Of course it is also great for hiking, camping, and pretty much any other outdoor activity.

Once walking becomes the only way to get around you will be glad you have this UV Protection Shirt. Post disaster the suntan lotion is going to run out. Sun exposure is no joke – especially when you can’t retreat to air conditioning and clean, cold showers whenever you want.

Windstopper Water Repellent Hunting Jacket

This Windstopper Water Repellent Hunting Jacket is one of my most prized articles of clothing. When the wind is howling and the temperatures are below freezing this is the Jacket I reach for. I can’t imagine how I would have coped with the elements without this Jacket on several hiking and hunting trips. It has kept me warm when the windchill was dangerous and the air was full of sleet that was coming down sideways. If I have to grab one Jacket and run in the cold weather this is going to be it.

This Hunting Jacket is awesome for everyday cold weather use. It is awesomely prefect when it comes to hunting and spending time in the wood. It has pouches and pockets in all the right places, as well as a pass through for a harness for your Hunting Tree Stand.

Unlike a lot of other windproof jackets that crinkle and make a ton of noise, this SITKA Hunting Jacket is quiet enough for me to stay hidden from game, and anything else in the woods. It also has special covers in the hood so you can hear better. That is useful for hearing what is coming when you are hunting, or being hunted.

Waterproof Boots

A good pair of Waterproof Boots can make the difference between an easy hike and a miserable slog across along the trail. My advice is buy a pair, and then use them to make a few long walks before you really need them. If you try to break in a new set of Boots on an actual hike you are going to be sorry. Blisters hurt, slow you down, and the skin break leave you open to infections.

Breaking in your Boots is important. Post disaster it is highly likely the only way to get from point A to point B is going to be walking. You better have a good set of boots. They better be broken in and comfortable. Don’t wait until its too late.

Tactical Vest

Much to my wife’s dismay I have multiple Tactical Vests. I try to explain that my wife has three dozen dresses (at least) for summer gatherings. She will tell me that each of them has a different purpose to fit a different occasion. I try to explain to her that I have exactly the same thing. One of my Tactical Vest is loaded out as a handgun platform with backups for my backup and a ton of ammo. I have another Vest loaded out as a shotgun platform with enough shells to look almost, but not quite, comical. I’m about to buy a third and load it out as a bug out vest so I can balance weapons with other medical and general purpose gear.

I live out in the boonies with lots of places I can go for a private walk. I like to wear my loaded out Tactical Vest as a weight trainer. It serves lots of purposes. The first is that I physically get the benefit of moving with the extra weight. The second is that I find out what works and what doesn’t and can adjust fittings as needed. That is really important because I don’t want to find out I can’t reach a critical piece of gear when it might be life and death.

Hammerhead Cane

Even if you don’t need a Cane, your may want to get one of these Hammerhead Canes. Firstly they are just that cool. Secondly I love the weight and heft in my hand when I use it. I have a bad back and when I need a Cane I like to use a quality unit. This is a great walking stick even when my back is fine. If I’m going out, I take my Hammerhead Cane or my Brass Cane with me. I like the Hammerhead one for nature and casual walks. The Brass Cane is great if I need to dress it up a bit. It goes with everything from jeans and a sports jacket to a suite. If anyone asks, my back is just acting up and I want the extra support if I need it.

My wife doesn’t believe me when I say I just want the extra comfort a Cane gives me. She says I’m really just preparing to defend myself, but she can’t really take my Cane from me can she? That would make her a monster!

That also makes this Hammerhead Cane an an awesome Hidden Survival tool. I can use it to keep my balance when I just need a Cane. But if I need to use it for Self Defense the Hammerhead means I can break bones and skulls as needed.

Tactical Gloves

These Tactical Gloves are the perfect way to protect your hands in all kinds of situations. I go through normal gloves pretty fast. I lose them or beat them up so much they need to be replaced. They also get stashed with different load outs, so that no matter what I grab I have a good set of Gloves. My most recent purchases have been these Tactical Gloves. I keep a set in my shooting bag, and another in my vehicle. Why? Because you never know when you are going to want to protect your hands from getting banged up.

Shooting Vest

Normally my Shooting Vest is full of target loads while I am shooting clays. But, this Shooting Vest easily holds 100+ shells, and no one questions seeing it in my vehicle, because they know I shoot clays. It means I can store all kinds of self defense ammunition close at hand.

Guess what? This Shooting Vest holds slugs just as well as target loads, and since I’m a shotgun guy, I trust a 12G slug to knock down a Zombie or any attacker much more than a handgun or rifle round. Those smaller caliber weapons are much more likely to “punch through” the target and leave the target on its feet. They might still bleed out or die, but its not an instant kill. I’m positive if I hit a target with a 12G slug its losing an arm or a leg. A center mass shot is going to bring down anyone not wearing body armor.

When it comes to self defense, I’ll take a 12G over a rifle any day of the week.

Lightweight Woodland Ghillie Suit

You obviously need to match your Lightweight Woodland Ghillie Suit coloration and vegetation to your local vegetation. For me this Ghillie Suit is perfect for spring, summer, and early fall. By Late fall and winter it’s a bit too green, but it might still be better than normal clothing. A lot depends on whether the snow is falling yet.

My advice is to find an airsoft group that plays outside, and get used to putting this Ghillie Suit on and moving in it. If you need to wear it, you’ll be glad you practiced.

I’m not really sure if Zombies hunt by smell or sight, and how much this Ghillie Suit will protect me from them, but I do know it will protect me from other survivors and scavengers, and that is enough to make it into my Survival Clothing kit.
