Teen Wolf Season 2 – Episode 3

Episode  3 – Ice Pick

Summary:

Episode three starts out with a creepy abduction at the gas station.  The’ve got her and her dad, and – he’s an ass. Her dad I mean. It is all an excersize. He’s trying to turn her into himself.

There is a new girl, Erica, and she has some strange link to Scott.  And then someone “steals” her while she appears to be passed out. I think it was Derek. Yep, it was Derek. And he has a pretty hot scene with her for just about ten seconds. Apparently he wants to cure epilepsy with werewolfism.

While Derek is building his pack the Argent’s are planning on how to kill as many of the wolves as possible and Derek is mad that he hasn’t turned, but finds out he still isn’t purely human. A1

Things I loved about this episode…

  • Allison’s dad is a complete ass.  But he plays the part so well.

  • Allison’s butt while she’s rock climbing. Nothing like a climbing harness to accent a girl’s *ss.
  • Erica has turned into a hottie.  And, OMG, its Gage Golightly from “The Troop”.  It is so weird to see her dressed like a slut. I usually watch her on my younger son’s show. Getting bit apparently makes you hot…

  • Lydia is losing her mind and it is done very well.
  • Scott kicking some ass. At least until Derek hands him his head.

Things that I didn’t like about this episode…

  • Okay, so Scott and Allison are supposed to be hiding their relationship. So they take a picture. Really?

Best Quote of Episode 2:

When Derek tell shim to go home if he doesn’t want to fight 3 on 1.

Scott – “I meant fair for them.”

All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7)

All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7)All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have to say that book seven is the weakest entry of the bunch so far. There were just too many thing going on that made me feel ill at ease. It wasn’t one massive thing, it was more the death of the thousand paper cuts.

Sookie is brought to the big vampire conference and immediately a few strange things happen. First of all, the security is supposed to be extremely tight, but they each get an “extra” bag and don’t think much about it. And when Sookie is picking the bag up she feels that one of the minds is blocked out to her. Something I don’t recall her ever encountering before.

If I was a mind reader and I get called to pick up a strange bag and the dude is a lockbox to me, I might at least open the damn suitecase! Just a thought. Open it and see if there is anything inside that might tell you who the bag belongs to. Oh, and there is a bomb in it.

Then again, at one point Sookie and and Barry are in the ballroom and the several waiters make a point of not going near them. If I’m a mind reader and someone makes a point of avoiding me, I am sure going to get suspicious.

And then, an unclaimed cofin shows ups. I really think a bunch of vampires might be interested to know why an unclaimed cofin is downstairs? Maybe it has a staked vampre in it? Maybe it is full of explosives?

I know my original rating based on the first read years ago was much higher, but after going through it again I had to take some points off.

Teen Wolf Season 2 – Episode 2

Episode  2 – Shape Shifted

Summary:

I am so happy they ran the second episode tonight.

It opens with Isac getting bullied by his father, and then running. The realization scene where his dad see’s something he doesn’t know is human is awesome. Very well done.

And then in a strange twist of tasers and plotting Grandpa Argent becomes the principal of the school.

Things I loved about this episode…

  • Isac’s dad’s face when he realizes it isn’t something human on the street was priceless.
  • Stiles is the best. He plays the quirky/funny/odd best friend so well. I love it when he tells the coach “Wise choice,” coach when all the chain comes out of his locker.
  • Jackson getting the camera so he can see what is happening during the full moon.
  • When Scott is in the basement of Isac’s house I had chills.  The scratch marks on the inside of the freezer chest…
  • Jackson’s porn setup for his wolf out session.  You just know this isn’t going to end well.
  • Allison shooting her dad’s henchman with an arrow. You go girl.  And then she gets to wrap scott up in some chains. Not my thing, but I guess it is still pretty hot.
  • Derek and Stiles going back and forth. Stiles is such a smart ass. And Derek is a smooth talker. But why isn’t Derek changing? (Oh, I guess he can control it since he’s the Alpha)
  • Uh Oh, I think there is something other than Scott in the house with Allison. The breathing is uber creepy.  I don’t know what is in the house, but it doesn’t look like a werewolf…
  • Lizard demon? A sleestak? Do they have to pay the land of the lost owners royalties?

Things that I didn’t like about this episode…

  • Why wouldn’t Scott tell Allison about her grandfather? You think he might want to let her know that her grand pappy cuts people in half.
  • Jackson is such an *ss. He is so mean to Lydia when she is trying to be nice to him.
  • Derek has a p*ssy car. Really, get a Mustang.
  • I think they are using the term Omega wrong.  Omega’s have no need to fight for pack status, I don’t think it means a lone wolf.
  • If I get out of my car and see arrows in the tire, I’m not going to non chalantly stand around.
  • I’m pretty sure that freezer chests have airtight seals.  I hope no dumb kids get any ideas from this show.

Best Quote of Episode 2:

Allison – “They won’t split us apart.”

Scott – “Not us.”

Definitely Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #6)

Definitely Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #6)Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First of all, does anyone else ever get frustrated when they try to figure out what is the next book in the Sooke Stackhouse series? Why can’t they just put Book 1, Book 2 in their name in the ebook store? What a pain!

Anyway, I mention it because there were several times in Book 6 when I thought I might have jumped out of order for a moment and picked up the next book in the series. She flashed back to stuff that didn’t happen in the previous book, she was just providing back story.

So, that aside, this was indeed Book 6, and I didn’t skip anything out of order.

Things I loved about this book in bullet format:
– You find out a lot more about Quinn.
– The kinda sex scene in Hadley’s apartment with Sookie and Quinn. It was very hot.
– You find out Bill’s dark secret about Sookie.
– You find out about Sookie’s fairy godmother and her own fairy heritage.
– Sookie is so sweet and yet tough as nails.

Things I didn’t love about this book in one line format:
– Don’t make it so hard for me to buy the correct next book!!!

Teen Wolf Season 2 – Episode 1

Episode  1 – Omega

Summary:

First of all – OMG – season 2 is finally here!!!  My oldest son and his “twin” and I are ready to watch teen wolf and my wife is complaining that the room just very gay.  Oh well, we don’t care.

The season opens with Jackson coming out of the water, clearly having been bit.  And Scott and Allison are getting it on, even though her dad has clearly forbid each other from ever seeing each other again.  It gets very hot and then Allison’s mom interupts them.

Allison has apparently convinced her dad that Scott is a good werewolf, and Mr. Argent has apparently agreed to let him live as long as he stays away for his daughter.

Strange things are going on in town, and Stiles and Scott aren’t sure if it’s Lydia or Jackson, or maybe both of them going off the wall as they start to change.

And the best part is that we get another dose tomorrow night.

Things I loved about this episode…

  • Brief hotness between Scott and Allison.
  • Creepy shower scene with Lydia. What the hell is coming up the drains? Hmm, bad memories and something worse…
  • Stiles fighting a snack machine. Stiles rocks.
  • The gravedigger getting ambushed, and then trapped in the hole. What is Derek up to? Is the “big bad guy” going to be a vampire this season?
  • Jackson. He is such a douche, but at the same time he play sit so well. I wonder if he really is an ass*ole in real life.
  • Something freaky deaky is going on with Derek. I think he is going to be a “special” werewolf.
  • Scott is so sweet, leaving stuff in Allison’s locker and then comforting her when she’s having a panic attack.
  • I have to go back and refresh my memory, I can’t remember what Stiles dad did to the teacher who is such a prick during dentention.
  • The Godfather of werewolf hunters has arrived. Grandpa Argent has come to kick some ass. I wonder if Grandpa Gerard is going to keep the truce when it comes to Scott.
  • A few brief seconds of Lydia’s arm bras. We didn’t get to see much more than we would if she were in a bathing suite, but it was still nice.
  • The homeless dude werewolf and the sword. Grandpa Argent is a sick bastard. And he doesn’t know the definition of Omega either.
  • Derek looking like he’s leaking everywhere in his bed.

Things that I didn’t like about this episode…

  • Scott sniffing the way out the window. They should have had him on the hood of the jeep.
  • Apparently werewolves about to turn leak ink out their noses, and then there is no evidence when they get pulled out of the stall.

Best Quote of Episode 1:

Scott – “Stiles, next time you see a trip wire – don’t trip it.”

Romney on Obama Defense Spending

So on Memorial Day Romney pulled out the republican boogeyman, claiming that Obama has cut military spending to fund social programs.

Romney –  “One is to follow the pathway of Europe. To shrink our military smaller and smaller to pay for our social needs.”

This is just pure bullshit. We have increased our spending every year under Obama.  When is enough enough? When do we stop letting the bastards lie to steal more and more from us?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You get what you deserve. If you are willing to vote for someone who wants to cut your school’s funding and deny care for your parents and grandparents while providng huge tax breaks to the rich, all I can say is your a stupid f*ck who gets what they deserve.

Catholoics = No Faith

I have a saying.  I’ve actually screamed it at people who come to my door spouting garbage who won’t put up to prove their point.

“Have the strength of your convictions.”

If you want to tell me that Obama has increased the debt with social spending he is killing our economy, I’d ask you to agree to use the data from the CBO and let’s talk (see spending graph below if you want to see what I’m talking about).

But this is really about the catholics screaming about the war on religon because they are being asked to provide birth control for their female members. I have one simple thing to say to them.

YOU DON’T HAVE THE STRENGTH OF YOUR CONVICTIONS

So you are being asked to supply birth control to comply with federal standards.  So what, if your members are so against it, they don’t have to use the service.  I guess the catholics just don’t have any strength of will, no faith, no belief in their own religon.

Dead as a Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse, #5)

Dead as a Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse, #5)Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What is the appeal of Sookie?

I think it has a lot to do with how “common” she seems. While she is a telepath, she is also a very straightforward and simple person. It makes her both approachable adn likable. She might hang with shifters and vamps, but she never revels in it.

Compared with other female heroines of the vampire genre, I think Sookie is the most balanced. The Night Huntress (Cat) is a solid character, but the action is a bit thin and it is usually easy to see what is coming in the future. I enjoyed the Night Huntress series, but they are more about vampire/soft erotic reading than anything else. And of course, there is Bella, who is very unidimentional.

So, after a quick review of the genre, how did book five stand up. It was a good solid entry in the Sookie Stackhouse series, but the shooter was a bit out of left field. The cool parts were teh insite into who Claudine is, and the depth you were able to see into the were society.

A good summer read. I hope you enjoy.
