Abra Cadaver opens with Major’s dog on the floor, listening as Liv and Major, well, kind of go at it.
This leas to Liv asking if Major is really okay. They can’t have sex because of the Zombie Virus, but clearly they can do other things which are left to our own imaginations. This leads to Liv asking Major if he’s really okay with the limitations on their physical relationship as well as the fact that her personality changes a little with every meal.
We then cut to a hotel and get introduced to our victim, Syd Wicked, who had been murdered with a playing card. Prestofest is in town, meaning the hotel is full of magicians and entertainers.
Syd’s brains get turned into some type of bacon and brains treat.
Back at Ravi’s house he’s sharing his relationship woes with Peyton who isn’t that sympathetic. Ravi feels like his new girlfriend is moving too fast while Major and Peyton are both a little freaked out by Liv being a Zombie still. For Peyton that makes sense, but for Major, it seems like a reversal as him and Liv just had some bedtime talk about the very same.
Back on the investigation front, we find out that Syd was not a well liked magician. His fellow magicians hated that he would give up their secrets, and his death isn’t apparently being mourned so much as celebrated.
Unfortunately for Ravi’s girl, she’s moving too fast for Ravi, and when he comes back to his house and finds the living room in full British get up and she is dressed as a sexy Bobby, he doesn’t look so happy about it. Ravi does however sleep with her and wait until the morning to tell her they can’t see each other anymore. As she puts it, “real classy”.
While all this is going on, Liv is helping Blaine find whoever is killing the Zombies. They think Agent Bozzio might know something about it, but when they stake her out all they see is Clive coming over for a lovely evening. When they break in the next morning, they do find all the evidence that Agent Bozzio has, but it doesn’t really help them as she doesn’t have any information they don’t already know. They do however find a result coming from the FBI lab confirming the brains in Lieutenant Suzuki’s fridge were human – which forces Liv to falsify them to throw the FBI off the trail.
Peyton then ends up at Blaine’s to share that Mr. Boss visited her, and they bond over how scary Mr. Boss is. Blaine gives Peyton his number, and she takes it, just in case she gets “scared” again.
Meanwhile Liv has solved the crime, which had a nice little twist. I won’t lay out out as I don’t want to spoil it.
Ravi then misunderstands Peyton when she asks to watch a movie and she shoots him down when he goes in for a kiss.
Abra Cadaver ends with Major slipping out after finding Liv high on Syd’s death obsessed brains, not able to handle this bit of brains induced manis.
I’m giving Abra Cadaver an 85/100 as this was a great episode that is Worth Your Time. The twist was well done and the story was compelling.
