I love these Door Bars. They are discrete and easy to install. That means I can put them on doors and my wife doesn’t really care because she doesn’t notice the brackets. If I need to put the bars on she isn’t going to be mad then either. Because if I’m barring the doors something really bad is going down.

With a little bit of work you can put multiple Door Bars on any door, making it extremely kick and bash resistant. If you’re in bear country a nice solid door combined with these Door Bars can make the difference between finding a bear in your kitchen versus watching it waddle away in frustration.

Inflatable Kayak

I love how this Inflatable Kayak fits into a small duffle. At just 30″ X 17″ X 10″ I can take this Kayak anywhere. I live between a bay and a river, and if its raining at high tide I can watch the river start to leak over its retaining wall, or just walk outside and squish through my yard. If you are like me and never know when a road could be flooded, you want something like this Inflatable Kayak to give you options. If I need to go save my neighbors or just want to keep an eye on water levels, this Kayak is perfect.

Of course if you like to hike and want to explore, you can’t beat this Inflatable Kayak.

Which is awesome. You want to use your gear before you need it to save your life. That is easy with this Kayak because it lets you enjoy the water. You can explore, fish, or paddle for exercise.

Post disaster it will only be a few seasons before bridges are destroyed. Without active water management and maintenance many of the structures we rely on every day are going to fail quickly. If you live around water, this Kayak is going to be your way to cross streams, lakes, and rivers!

Chocolate Milk Mix

Is this Chocolate Milk Mix going to save your life? Not directly. Unless things get really weird. But even in a post apocalyptic world it is nice to have a treat now and then. That is important to mental health. If everything else has failed, you still now you can have a glass of Chocolate Milk when you fight your way back to your bolt hole.

Pre disaster this Mix is the perfect way to treat yourself while on the trail and camping. When you need that little bit of lift me up after a long hike this Chocolate Milk is just the thing. If your taking the kids hiking, hunting, or camping, take along some of this Chocolate Milk to pick everyone up when they get tired.

Post disaster there are going to be limited options to enjoy a treat. This Mix is more about mental health to me than anything else. Of course I can use it to trade if there are friendly survivors, but more importantly, this is a pick me up on those days that beat you down.

Food Dehydrator

Long term survival is going to come down to three basic items. Once you have security you need to have water. Once you have water you need to be able to support your long term calorie needs. Post Apocalypse, many of us in the temperate zone will fall back into a harvest and hunt mode while staying relatively idle during the worst of the winter months. To be able to survive you will need to be able to store food. If you only have power for one device, that juice should go to this Food Dehydrator.

Fuel Transfer Pump Kit

When the world comes to a grinding halt, those things we take for granted everyday will be the first to go. Once the fuel trucks stop delivering, most people will be out of fuel within days.

People will panic and horde what is left, making things worse.

The good news is that there will still be a lot of gas to be had, you just have to be able to get it, and that is where this Multi-Use Siphon Fuel Transfer Pump Kit comes in to save the day.  Think of all those semi trailers stuck on the highway. If you are lucky the truckers killed their engines before they were eaten, and those two tanks on either side of a semi can hold anywhere from 100 to 300 gallons of diesel. That diesel is basically fuel oil. You can use it to do everything from run a furnace to power your diesel vehicle. All those vehicles left behind in massive traffic jams when people thought they could flee? A lot of them will have tanks full of gasoline.

Mosquito & Tick Protection Pants

These Mosquito & Tick Protection Pants are a key article of clothing for anyone spending time outdoors. Bug spray and lotions are great, but if you plan on being out on the trail for days or even weeks, carrying that much spray/lotion isn’t realistic. A Mosquito Repellent Suit is awesome, but it is not always practical. If you are moving through brush and brambles it will just get ripped to shreds. That is why we have layered plans right? If the Mosquito Repellent Suit isn’t going to work, the next layer in insect defense is these Pants!

Now factor in a natural disaster of any sort, where everything will fly off the shelf and be out of stock in hours or days. When it comes to being outside, especially if I’m going cross country or hunting, I wear my Mosquito & Tick Protection Pants. They are the perfect way to keep the bugs from biting!

Anti Kick Deadbolt Strike Plate

You should have this Anti Kick Deadbolt Strike Plate on every exterior door. The 4 1/2″ heavy duty posts penetrate into the framing, greatly enhancing the Strike Plate’s strength. This means that if someone tries to kick the door in it is going to be much harder. It may also stop them completely. Standard installations usually use short screws that only go into the door jam. Its very easy to kick them free. Not with this Strike Plate! Even if they can get enough force to break the door in this unit is going to give you a few extra moments to react. Sometimes a few seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Do you have a plan for a break in? You should. And this Strike Plate becomes a part of it. They should be on any interior door you plan to use to hold back home invaders.

Lever Opening Tool

Thanks to laws designed to make sure that the disabled can open doors in emergencies, all state and federal buildings have to use “lever” style door handles, which makes this Lever Opening Tool a must have survival tool. Quickly and quietly open doors in schools, hospitals, police barracks, all with a super light weight, easy to carry tool.

I’m sure you can see how that will make scavenging during the Apocalypses a lot easier!

This Tool is in my kit for two main reasons.

Firstly, if I need to go rescue someone from a building with safety doors this gives me a quick and quiet way to get inside. That means whomever is doing bad things isn’t going to know I’m coming. Or where I’m coming from. That will gave both tactical options as well the element of surprise. All good things on a rescue mission.

Secondly, the types of buildings that use these doors tend to hold supplies. In a post disaster world this Tool is going to give me quick and quiet access so I can scavenge without alerting anyone else around. Who wants other scavengers to come and try to liberate your supplies once you’ve done all the hard work?

Weapon Mounted Light

It is hard to defend yourself in the dark. Make sure you can defend yourself with this Weapon Mounted Light! This Light really serves two purposes. I’m going to start with the more important one. If I draw my weapon and its dark, something has gone wrong. I feel threatened. It is really easy in a situation like that to be on a hair trigger. This Light makes sure I can positively identify what’s in front of me, and not shoot a family or friend who fled to my house when the power went out and the looting started. Secondly, its hard to shoot a threat if you can’t see it. Once I’ve positively identified my target and determined my life is at risk, this Light means I can track my target and defend myself effectively.

I don’t advise firearms for home defense, but if you really feel you have to use a firearm to check out that bump in the night, you better have this Light attached to your firearm so you can 100% positively identify what you are about to shoot. Don’t shoot a family member who is sneaking in late after a night out with their friends. With a firearm you better positively identify what you are shooting at – and that means having Weapon Mounted Light on all home defense weapons. For the record I preferer Baseball Bats for home defense. If you do panic and swing you are less likely to kill someone you love with a bat.

Pop Up Privacy Tent

There is a great swimming spot up by my Uncles property in the Poconos – sometimes there are people there, and sometimes we have it all to ourselves. In either case, this Pop Up Privacy Tent is awesome. We often take friends and family up there – and this Privacy Tent lets people get changed without worrying about putting themselves on display.

This Privacy Tent is also a must have if you are car camping or going to a field party. A lot of times the “facilities” leave something to be desired, but with this Privacy Tent you can set up a shower Solar Shower or an Emergency Bucket Toilet and still have some privacy.
