Everybody Dies in the End is the Season 3 finale, and I’m hoping its as high octane as last episode, which really kicked some butt.
The Man has the now teen Lucy, and he’s trying to convince her that no one is coming to save her, not even Addy – but Lucy still has faith.
What The Man doesn’t know is that Lucy is a smart kid, and she’s left behind a Zombie Guide for Addie to use as a tracker. He also doesn’t know that Kaya is tracking him, and directing Team Warren down on him as well.
When The Man get’s to the meeting point, he finds it flooded with Zombie’s, and they aren’t the kind that Lucy can control. Good thing for The Man a strike team from Zona is there to save his bacon.
The Man quickly discovers that whatever is going on, things at Zona may be falling apart. The strike team he thought was sent to pick him up is actually just a group of soldiers left there without orders, and just like the other Zona survivors, they are losing their immunity.
Outside Addie, Doc, and the Zombie Guide have reached the Zona compound, but its a long way up, and no easy way to get in. Addie decides to climb, leaving Doc behind with the Zombie Guide in case she is wrong. It’s not too long before Doc is ambushed by paratroopers, and they don’t appear to be doing so well either.
Doc and Zombie Guide are about to get overrun when Team Warren shows up to save him, but Zombie Guide is given Mercy before Doc can explain that he’s helping them.
We now have two teams closing in on The Man. Addie is climbing the mountain as Team Warren is coming through from the lower entrance that the now dead Zona Paratroopers opened up before turning.
Inside, The Man is trying to comfort Lucy, telling her he’s going to protect her, even from death. I was really expecting her to bite him as he held her, but I guess it was just a moment of honest fear on her part.
While all this is going on 10K is dying. How to do you save a dying man? Well, during the Zombie Apocalypse you strangle him, have Murphy bite him, and inject him with a dose of Zombie Vaccine all at the same time.
Which leads us to the final confrontation. Team Warren has reached the top of the Zona compound. Warren is shocked to see Lucy is now a teen, but Doc has a pretty good explanation.
As Warren is trying to negotiate with The Man Murphy takes the moment of distraction to wing The Man and grab Lucy. Warren faces off with The Man for a moment before Murphy steps in, wanting to put an end to The Man once and for all. Unfortunately for Murphy, his brief moment of strength ends up getting both him and Warren shot.
With Warren and Murphy down The Man picks up Lucy, throws her over his shoulder, and takes her up to the helipad.
This is when thing get really weird. Addie shows up, grabs Lucy, and they jump off the edge of the platform. Red’s little brother then follows them over the edge, and Season 3 ends on a cliff hanger as a futuristic flying vessel shows up and shoots a pulse rifle several times. We see Murphy and Warren’s eyes glowing bluish before the season comes to an end.
Really? This is how we are ending Season 3. After the massive build up from Duel, Everybody Dies in the End is a bit of a letdown. Everybody Dies in the End earned itself a 70/100, and is Worth Your Time, but I really hate cliffhanger endings like this.
