This is just so scary. That man’s life was hanging by a thread.

That range master likely saved that guys life.

Anna and the Apocalypse is an odd movie. I imagine it came about when a zombie movie fan decided he’d make a movie that his girlfriend would watch.

His girlfriend’s favorite movie is Mama Mia.

What do you get when you mix a zombie movie and a musical? Well, the answer is Anna and the Apocalypse. The music is actually pretty good, but things fall apart a little when the violence start. The shift from peppy musical to violent zombie movie is a bit jarring. I was actually getting into the musical part (Ella Hunt is an amazing actress and singer) and you start to root for the love story, when things, well, go about the way you’d expect with a zombie movie.

So, was the movie worth watching? Yes, don’t let my 55/100 score keep you from watching Anna and the Apocalypse. It is a decent, watchable movie, but it felt a little like it wasn’t quite true to itself, and worse, it doesn’t know exactly what it is. Is it a peppy musical that just happens to have zombies? Or is it a zombie movie that happens to have some musical numbers? I think it could have worked as one or the other, but not both.

I don’t care how confident you are in your bullet proof glass, plate, etc. Never ever test it by having anyone, and especially your female friends, hold it while you take some shots at it.

So many bad practices here.

Never use a loaded weapon to demonstrate gun safety – for obvious reasons.

Then, even if you think it is no loaded, treat it like it is.

This guy, and everyone at that range is just lucky the bullet went down range and not in a direction that could have hurt someone.

The big thing that Eyes Of The Dead had going for it was its “single shot”, “first person” filming style.

The novelty of that wears off really quickly, and quite honestly, made me motion sick within fifteen minutes. Was the story enough to keep me watching after those first fifteen? I have to be honest, no it wasn’t. The filming style seemed like a gimmick to me, and I couldn’t get into or enjoy it because of that.

Sorry if you loved the movie, but I’m giving this a 1/100. It is not worth a watch, there are better options.

Whenever I take a new shooter to the range I give them a gun safety talk.

That covers all the basics, and stresses the fact that you only point the gun at things you intend to destroy, and to treat every gun as if its loaded.

This guy either didn’t get, or ignored those instructions, and his buddy is just lucky the range master saw what was happening and immediately took action.

The range master’s quick action could have saved a life, and the fact that he immediately removes the shooter at the end deserves applause. Respect gun safety or you don’t belong at the range.

Ravenous takes place in small town Quebec, so the original movie is in French with English subtitles, but don’t let that keep you away. Ravenous has great character development and great action scenes, which isn’t always true of some zombie films.

The first half hour has some great scenes. One of them involves a the main characters fleeing through the woods as a horde runs after them through the trees, it was well shot and gave me the creeps.

I actually really liked the fact that they don’t try to explain the why its happening, the movie instead concentrates on what surviving takes, and how simple choices can mean life or death.

The ending is a bit strange, but came full circle, which I liked. Overall I’m giving Ravenous a 68/100. The movie is well worth watching if your a zombiephile.

Things to like about Ravenous:

• Good character development.
• Well done action and violence.
• One of the most bad ass fighters is a woman.
• Well acted and well written.
