By Day’s End is a story about two woman who’s relationship is just about to implode when the Zombie Apocalypse starts. The movie takes place in the confines of a low rent apartment block.
The acting is hit or miss. The two main female leads are both good actresses, but some of the supporting cast overacts pretty badly.
The movie starts off pretty slow. It continues to move slowly. The end is also a slow burn without any real bang. This isn’t so much a sad romance that uses zombies as the foil for love and loss.

If your looking for zombie action, or action in general, By Day’s End is not the movie for you, which is why it scored a 31/100, putting it in the Just Bad range. If you are looking for a relationship based drama that uses Zombies as the pressure cooker this may be for you.
If you are looking for a relationship movie that uses the friendship between two people as a major plot point – but also has some action, I’ve got a better option for you. I’d suggest The Battery. It is a great example of a buddy/conflict movie. It is also a great example of what can be done one a small budget.
