Guns are not toys.

If you treat something as powerful and dangerous as a firearm as a toy you are going to get hurt – or even worse you will hurt someone else nearby.

Handle every firearm as if it is loaded. Handle every firearm with care and handle it appropriately.

This guy is lucky all he got was a butt to the face.

I will always remember where I was that morning when Flight 1549 landed in the Hudson. I remember feeling happy that everyone survived, and more selfishly, lucky that I wasn’t aboard.

I travel a lot for work, and while the worst thing I’ve ever had happen on a plane involves another passenger with explosive diarrhea in a seat in front of me, I always get a little knot in my stomach when we are taking off or landing – because I read those are the most dangerous times of any flight. I always wonder if I had survived this if I’d ever got on a plane again?

I hope all the survivors are happy and safe today as the look back on the events of 10 years ago.

My sons buss blew by our stop this morning. It was cold and windy, so my son was waiting just inside our door. Instead of stopping to make sure no one was nearby, the bus didn’t even stop.

That is how I ended up with my slippers on, my robe, and a winter coat, driving my son to school.

My son has his permit. As we were driving we were talking about the hundred meters of ice on the gentle up-slope to the stop sign at the end of the street. The pickup in front of us slid through the stop sign, then struggled to get traction to make the turn and continue on its way.

I was telling my son how important it is to drive defensively, to plan for everyone else around you to screw up when we were hit from behind.

Thankfully the car was just sliding and the driver had been trying to slow down. Still, it was a perfect example of how careful you need to drive in winter weather. Neither car was damaged.

After we got moving again I told my son it was an important lesson. Sometime you can do everything right and still get in trouble. The other lesson was that you can depend on the other driver being an idiot and not driving as cautiously as you.

It was a great first clay day of the year. My youngest and myself enjoyed the bite of winter and a little bit of falling snow as we shot our first round of the new year.

Train to Busan is one of those amazing movies that you get sucked into and you forget that it is in subtitles. The original movie was filmed in South Korea and centers around a father and his daughter who board a train just as the zombie apocalypse begins.

The movie really is a solid 100 out of 100.

It does so many things just right. I love how the zombies break through glass because of the pressure their massed bodies are creating. I also love the fact that no one is really safe.

I won’t ruin the movie for you, because it is well worth watching, but I will promise you it is full of fast, deadly zombies, and once the action starts, it is nonstop.

It took me a few days to get all the way back into Keto. I’d spiked up about 12lbs over a week and a half of eating whatever I wanted over the holidays.

A week post going back onto my strict diet I am up just 5.9lbs from my pre holiday weight. Time to buckle down.

My goal for 2019 is to get to 200lbs.
