The Last Of Us Season 1, Episode 7

Left Behind picks up right where Kin left off. Joel is hurt and Ellie is desperately trying to save him.

I give detailed, blow by blow details as I review. If you want to skip the spoilers jump down to the Scoring!

If you have watched Left Behind let me know if you agree with my Scoring Below.

Wounded

Joel is wounded and bleeding. Not to mention in a ton of pain. He urges Ellie to go to Tom. Ellie covers up Joe’s shivering body before walking upstairs and going through the door. Is she leaving? We won’t know for a little bit because when Ellie leaves she steps into an epic Flashback.

Fedra Camp (Flashback)

Ellie is running lap before a bully decides to pick on her. Ellie says she doesn’t want to fight but her bully just says “her” friend is gone and her friend was the fighter. After the brawl Ellie’s camp commander tells her she is smart and she could be leader – but not if she keeps acting like a grunt.

Later, after Ellie goes to bed we see someone sneak into her room. It turns out it is her best friend, Riley Abel, who has been on the run for three weeks. Ellie demands to know where her friend went. Her friend went to join the Fireflies. The two of them head out into the night as they chat about when to fight, and when not to.

The two young ladies climb the stairs of an abandoned building only to find a corpse. It looks like the dead guy overdosed and drank himself to death. The Last of Us is a tough world.

Pills & Booze

The Mall (Flashback)

Riley has taken Ellie to the old mall. Which takes us back to Episode 1, When You’re Lost in the Darkness. The mall was referenced when Ellie was talking about how she got bit.

After Riley leads Ellie into the mall, Riley turns on the lights. Riley is going to shoe Ellie “The Four Wonders of the Mall”. Ellie is amazed at how the escalator works, and ends up almost taking Riley down. I thought it was going to lead to them coming face to face. Maybe for a kiss or something. But it didn’t happen. Yet. There have been hints that Ellie might be gay. You be you Ellie. Love who you want to love.

Riley makes Ellie close her eyes before taking her hand. Riley walks her to the Ferris Wheel. The two share a touching moment as Ellie looks at her friend, clearly in love.

This is when the Ferris Wheel stops.

Photo Booth (Flashback)

Ellie and Riley go into the photobooth after the Ferris Wheel freezes. The girls pull the drape closed and proceed to make funny faces as the booth takes pictures. The two exit the photo booth to head to the Fourth Wonder of the Mall, the Arcade.

They head into the Arcade as the beeps and sound effects of the games fill the air. The two find a Mortal Kombat II game and can’t contain their excitement.

The camera slowly pans away from the girls and into the darkness. They aren’t alone. One of the infected is in the mall and all the noise is wakening it up.

Macho Nacho (Flashback)

Riley’s next stop takes the girls to where Riley has been sleeping. It is also where she’s been making explosives for the Fireflies. After Ellie confront her, Riley admits she came back to see Ellie because it is her last night in Boston. The two share a touching moment as Riley tells Ellie she wanted to say goodbye.

Ellie stomps off as Riley watches. Ellie gets as far as the main entrance before guilt or anger makes her go back. The lights are off and we can hear screaming – but it was just Riley in the Halloween store.

This leads Riley & Ellie to having a very cute dance scene that culminates in a kiss. Of course everything is ruined by the infected.

That Post Kiss Smile

The way they both smiled afterwards says it all. Love is love.

Enter the Infected (Flashback)

Riley tells Ellie to run just before the lone infected attacks. Riley is knocked out almost immediately, leaving Ellie to go toe to toe with the Zombie with her blade. Just when it looks like Ellie might be in trouble Riley get up and distracts the infected with her baseball bad. Giving Ellie the moment she needs to stab the creature in the head with her knife.

Ellie’s First Kill

Ellie momentarily celebrates her victory in combat before lifting her arm to show her bite mark. Riley lifts her hand as Ellie cries out in denial and frustration. Riley has been bit too.

Ellie rages before she asks Riley what they are going to do. Riley lays out two options. She has the gun in her hand or they can just keep going.

We aren’t shown how Riley dies before jumping back to the current timeline.

Joel & Ellie (Current Timeline)

Ellie searches frantically for something. We don’t know what it is until she finds it. She was looking for a needle and thread.

Ellie uses a needle and string to sew up Joel. He’s in pain but the job has to be done. The episode ends with her sewing up Joe’s injury.

Am I the only one panicking because there are only two episodes of Season 1 left?

Left Behind Scoring

Left Behind scores 90/100 and is and is Worth Your Time. It is an amazing episode. Bella Ramsey and Storm Reid have electricity jumping between them! My only wish is that there were more Zombies!

Things I loved about this episode:

  • The way that the episode portrays Ellie’s affection for Riley. So much was said with so few words.
  • The Halloween Store dance and emotional movement when Ellie kisses Riley. There is just a moment where we aren’t sure how Riley will react to being kissed, but clearly she was just as much in love with Ellie as Ellie was with her.

Things I hated about this episode:

  • Have the young survivors not seen an infected? Is the mall in the Quarantine Zone? It seems like the survivors in the Quarantine Zone would maybe be more careful?
  • Sewing up the external wound on Joel isn’t going to do much if he’s bleeding internally.

Black Summer, Season 2, Episode 7

The Lodge opens with one of those “out of time sequence” shots. Rose is taking a cake out of the oven before we cut to the next scene.

With the flash forward completed we see Rose, Anna and Mechanic entering the Elk Valley Lodge. Mechanic of course feels vindicated, as well happy that they found found it.

Just Like I Said

Amazingly, the place still has power. Rose at least tells Mechanic to stay close, but they still seem super casual about wandering around. I’d have my weapon at the ready and clear the rooms closest to me at the very least. Or more likely a full wing of the hotel. Then I’d barricade myself off in case there are still a few Zombies about.

After a quick check the group goes upstairs and take two rooms. This leads to Rose taking a long hot shower. I can only imagine how good that must have felt after being cold and on the trail for days/weeks. Rose does offer to let Anna go first, but Anna is still on high alert. She scans the room and then peers out the windows as Rose goes into the bathroom.

Black Summer, Season 2

Sweet Dreams picks up with Rose finishing her shower before heading out into the room with Anna. Anna seems tense and wants to make sure they aren’t staying. She keeps looking to the door. I kept expecting to see a shadow move on the other side, but it never happened.

Light Under The Door

Mom and daughter have a few touching moments. Rose promises her daughter that they aren’t just going to find the plane, they are going to get on it. Rose again tells Anna to go first, this time to get some sleep, but Anna isn’t tired. She can’t stop staring at the door.

Rose climbs on the bed and shuts her eyes. This amazed me. I would have piled some things against the door just to be safe! How about plan an escape route? Check the room next door and then kick my way through a wall so I can escape into it? Something?

This is the part that made no sense to me. Anna has seen people get eaten alive. Then when she hears a distant noise she decides to go check it out. All while leaving her moms door unlocked from the outside. I was having flashbacks to some of the dumber things Carl did in The Walking Dead while watching these scenes.

Anna wanders downstairs to find one of the doors they’d walked by earlier banging in the wind. After shutting it we see just how much pain Anna is really in.

Footprints opens with Anna back in the room, staring at the door as her mother sleeps. This time someone does come to the door, and even tries to open it. Anna stands with her shotgun ready to fire if the newcomer tries to force their way in. Anna then does another amazingly stupid thing by going out into the hallway. Sure, she wanted to see if it was Boone. (I’ve been calling him Mechanic because I missed his name earlier.) But Boone is out like a light, meaning someone else is in The Lodge.

Anna’s silliness continue as she starts to investigate. She makes her way to a lower level that clearly has Zombies, and maybe someone fighting Zombies behind it?

When Rose finally wakes up it takes her a moment to realize that Anna is gone. Mom quickly goes to search for her daughter. It only takes a moment for Rose to find Anna who has found Spears somewhere along the way.

Spears Is Back

The Last Supper has the small group sitting around a table in the main dining hall. Boone is excited to have food, drink, and enough propane for what he thinks will power the place for at least a month, maybe more.

While Boone looks drunk and happy, everyone else looks pretty dour. Rose may be worried that Spears is angry she left him behind when he was shot, and Anna is just tense, seeing things that maybe her mom can’t or won’t?

Anna knows there are Zombies in the basement. She heard them, but when Boone claims the place is Zombie free she doesn’t say why she disagrees.

Anna keeps staring at Spears, not liking the way he looks or the fact that he keeps coughing.

Spears wants to stay. Boone wants to stay. Anna wants to get to the airstrip, she wants to get away. We then come to one of the critical moments of the episode.

Anna drops the bomb that Spears is dying. Spears doesn’t deny it, he just rambles about heaven and hell, and the fact that the outcome is already set.

We then get a flashback to Anna in the hall outside where the Zombie noises were coming from. Did she hear Spears inside? Was he bitten? Or is she convinced he’s dying because of his cough? None of it is clear.

Rose basically tells Spears that her daughter is her only concern, and the only reason to live. She doesn’t care about Spears or Boone, end of story. I think it was her way of apologizing to Spears for leaving him behind when he was shot – but it is also a declaration of future intent, which would worry me a little if I was with her and I wasn’t her daughter.

Note Where Boone Is

We now cut back to where we were at the beginning of the episode. Rose is in the kitchen, waiting for her cakes to finish when she hears a gunshot. When she rushes in, Anna is standing by the table and Spears is dead.

Spears Is Dead

The last thing Anna says is, “We’re leaving.”

Apparently when Anna says its time to go, its time to go. Screw the fact that its cold and night time, they head out, leaving the lodge behind.

This was one of the parts I liked at first, because Boone makes a run for it as soon as he gets a chance. They could have shot him, but what purpose would it have served other than making noise and telling anyone and everything around them they were there?

The director loves time shifts, so of course we are jumping back to the dining hall to explain why Anna shot Spears.

He knows he dying, as well as giving in to fatigue and fear, but he doesn’t have the heart to pull the trigger on his own, so he asks Anna to do it for him. As a callback to the cult leader, he hands her that very same weapon, which she uses to give him mercy as tears roll down her face.

This part made no sense to me either. Boone is sitting there, so he would have heard all this right? But he acted like he was surprised at Spear’s death.

The episode ends with the screen fading to black.

The Lodge Scoring

The Lodge is a tough one to score. It was intense, but there were so many frustrating actions that didn’t make sense to me. On top of that, Boone acted shocked and puked after Spears was killed, but he had to have been at the table right?

In the end those issues cost The Lodge points, leaving it with a 75/100. Still Worth Your Time, but it could have been better.

If you are looking for a fix I’d suggest The Walking Dead!

iZombie , Season 2, Episode 7

Abra Cadaver opens with Major’s dog on the floor, listening as Liv and Major, well, kind of go at it.

Heavy Petting

This leads to Liv asking if Major is really okay. They can’t have sex because of the Zombie Virus. Clearly they can do other things. They don’t show it. So use your imagination. Whatever it was, it was vigorous. Whatever they did do, it doesn’t relieve Liv’s anxiety about their relationship. She asks Major if he’s really okay with the limitations on their physical relationship first. Secondly, she asks if the way she eats and changes with eat meal matters.

The Victim

We then cut to a hotel. We have a victim. Syd Wicked was murdered with a playing card. Prestofest is in town, meaning the hotel is full of magicians and entertainers.

Syd’s brains get turned into some type of bacon and brains treat.

Tasty Brains

Back at Ravi’s house he’s sharing his relationship woes with Peyton who isn’t that sympathetic. Everyone has their personal issues. Ravi feels like his new girlfriend is moving too fast. Major and Peyton are both a little freaked out by Liv being a Zombie still. For Peyton that makes sense. For Major, it seems like a reversal as him and Liv just had some bedtime talk about the very same.

Back on the investigation front, we find out that Syd was not a well liked magician. His fellow magicians hated that he would give up their secrets. His death isn’t being being mourned. It’s cause for celebration.

Unfortunately for Ravi’s girl, she’s moving too fast for Ravi. When he comes back the living room she’s in full British get up. Dressed as a sexy Bobby. Any other guy might be happy but Ravi doesn’t look so happy about it. Ravi does however sleep with her and wait until the morning to tell her they can’t see each other anymore. As she puts it, “real classy”.

Going Full English

The Hunt For The Hunter

While all this is going on, Liv is helping Blaine find whoever is killing the Zombies. They think Agent Bozzio might know something about it and stake her out. All they see is Clive coming over for a lovely evening though. The next morning they break itno Agent Bozzio’s house. Unfortunately for them, they don’t find any information they don’t already have. They do however find a result coming from the FBI lab. The brains in Lieutenant Suzuki’s fridge were human. This forces Liv to falsify them to throw the FBI off the trail.

Peyton ends up at Blaine’s to share that Mr. Boss visited her. They bond over how scary Mr. Boss is. Blaine gives Peyton his number, and she takes it, just in case she gets “scared” again.

Meanwhile Liv has solved the crime, which had a nice little twist. I won’t lay out out as I don’t want to spoil it.

Ravi then misunderstands Peyton when they decide to watch a movie. He thinks Peyton wants a kiss. Peyton shoots him down when he goes for it though.

Abra Cadaver ends with Major slipping out after finding Liv high on Syd’s death obsessed brains. It is too much for him. He’s not able to handle this bit of brains induced mania.

Abra Cadaver Scoring

I’m giving Abra Cadaver an 85/100 as this was a great episode that is Worth Your Time. The twist was well done and the story was compelling.

The Walking Dead, Season 2, Episode 7

Pretty Much Dead Already opens with tension. Rick and Lori are dealing with the fallout of her unable to keep her legs closed for Shane, while Glen keeps looking over at Maggie who is standing on the porch. He’s decided he doesn’t have a choice, to keep the secret any longer, and drops the bomb on Team Rick that the barn is full of walkers.

The Barn Is Full of Walkers

The barn full of walker ignites the group. Shane wants to leave while Rick and Daryl want to stay and find Sophia.

With the secret out Glen begs Maggie to talk, but she just breaks an egg over his head, not ready to make nice. While Maggie is taking her anger out on Glen, Daryl is stubbornly trying to go back out, wounded, to search for Sophia. When Carol stops him, he loses it.

As everyone is dealing with their sh*t, Rick goes to talk to Hershel.

Rick Tells Hershel They Found The Barn

Rick wants to talk about the barn. Hershel just tells Rick he wants his group to move on by the end of the week. He doesn’t want to talk about the barn. Rick tells Hershel that forcing them to leave would mean putting everyone at risk, including his pregnant wife. Hershel doesn’t want to hear it.

A little later Hershel tells Maggie that he gave Rick the order to leave, and Maggie uses his faith to show him what the bible would have said. Hershel struggles with what Maggie is saying but he gets pulled away when he’s told “its happened again”.

Hershel bring Rick with him to the creek. The bottom of the stream is soft and silty, and walkers get stuck there. Maggie must have an impact on Hershel, even though they didn’t really finish their conversation. Hershel asks Rick if he can stop killing the walkers.

Zombie Capture

Rick asks Hershel what they are going to do when the Barn gets full but Hershel doesn’t answer as they wrangle the two Zombies away from the stream.

Back at the farm Glen confronts Maggie, telling her he never wants to see her in danger again, and the words made Maggie realize he does really care about her – and smooching commenced.

While Maggie and Glen are making up, Dale and Shane are having it out. Shane wants the guns that Dale is trying to stash, and it almost comes to blows.

Shane is pissed, and that anger overflows onto rick and Hershel when he sees them coming back with the two restrained Zombies. This leads to Shane screaming about how a sick person couldn’t take multiple gunshot wounds to the chest – before he finally puts the walker down with a headshot.

That’s Enough

It’s still not enough for Shane though, and he lets loose the barn zombies in a fit of rage, which leads to one of the iconic moments of The Walking Dead universe. After the team puts down the other zombies, the last walker out the gate is revealed. The team has found Sophia.

The Team Finds Sophia

Pretty Much Dead Already Scoring

Pretty Much Dead Already is one of those episodes that you will remember for years to come. I still remember this episode when it was on the air the first time. I remember sitting on the couch with my older boys, and we all gasped when we saw Sophia. Pretty Much Dead Already scores a 100/100. It is a master class in suspense and character development.

Z Nation Season 3, Episode 7

Welcome to Murphytown kicks off with a violent interlude. The Man takes out a zombie with what looks like an oversized boomerang before cutting off the zombie’s arm.

Immediately after, we see a pack of Zombie Children being used to run down a haggard looking man. The kids literally chase the man up a tree.

Treed By The Zombie Kids

The guy’s fate is sealed. Without a lot of choices he is forced to join Murphy and his crew. It is time to get Murphytown fully online. As Murphy’s men are vaccinating new members, The Man can be seen sneaking into camp.

Spoilers Below

While Murphy is building his new society Doc and 10K are working their way down the highway. At least until they are lucky enough to bump into Team Warren.

Doc Brining 10K Home

With Team Warren reunited, 10K gives them the news that Murphy is building a following and effectively making other survivors into his slaves by biting or injecting them with the Murphy Vaccine.

Car Thieves Pay With Their Lives

As Team Warren moves towards Murphytown they discover an interesting gas station/boat dock. There are multiple dead zombies about and an interesting sign. Someone is still claiming to be El Scorpion.

While 10K is fighting off Murphy’s mind control and the team is trying to figure out what is in Murphy’s booster shots, Citizen Z and his new Eskimo family have made their way back to Camp Northern Light with the hopes of bringing it back online now that he has some help.

The Man Fakes It

Meanwhile Murphy has recognized The Man and had him brought to him. I guess to make sure the wound is real, Murphy gets his finger into the wound.

The Man Getting Murphied

The Man tells Murphy he’s not working for his old bosses, and just wants to be a part of whatever Murphy is building. When challenged on his loyalties, Murphy tells The Man he needs fresh brains – for his research.

Brains

The man goes one step further by eating the brains after Murphy commands him to do so. Murphy now has a professional to acquire brains for snacking on.

After The Man leaves Murphy asks his lieutenant if he’s sure The Man got the vaccine. As Murphy is being assured The Man got the vaccine we see how The Man actually faked it. The flashback starts with The Man using a Zombie arm and jacket to fake getting the vaccine. We then cut back to the current timeline to watch as The Man barfs up the brains he just ate.

Brains!

As Team Warren splits up to take care of Murphy and his daughter, we see The Man luring Murphy into a false sense of security by delivering on his promise of bringing brains. As Murphy is chowing down The Man makes his move, taking Murphy captive at gunpoint.

Brains, It’s What’s For Dinner

At least until Murphy’s blends save him.

As Addy and Doc are driving they get serenaded by Kaya as she kicks butt in a Zombie Apocalypse themed rap. You go Kaya.

Welcome to Murphytown ends with Team Warren watching as the lights come on in Murphytown, realizing that they might have bitten off more than they can chew.

The Lights Coming On In Murphytown

The very last thing we see is Murphy going back into his thrown room to find The Man has removed his own hand to escape his bonds.

I enjoyed the story progression, and loved Kaya’s rap, which was one of the high points of Welcome to Murphytown, but I have to take some points off for not having a lot of Zombies being given mercy.

Welcome to Murphytown Scoring

Welcome to Murphytown scored a 67/100. It’s perfect for a Rainy Day as its more of a storyline progression than Zombie driven episode.

iZombie , Season 1, Episode 7

Maternity Liv takes off with a bunch young people camping. The camping trip is interrupted when a pregnant young lady, Emily, barely makes it into camp. Emily doesn’t survive, but thankfully her baby does. When Liv has some of Emily’s brains she gets a full dose of maternal instincts.

Babe In The Woods

Emily’s Baby

Liv ends up at the hospital, staring at Emily’s baby until she sees a flash of angry parents. Liv let’s Clive know. Clive is doing his best to get something out of Emily’s boyfriend.

While Clive is dealing with Major’s missing kids, Ravi is making friends with Liv’s new love interest.

A comment by Emily’s boyfriend about barking dogs leads Clive and Liv to animal control. This leads to one of those moments where I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to laugh or not?

Can You Say That?

When Liv gets home its time for date night, only Lowell just ate someone’s brains who likes guys. This puts a damper on his night with Liv, at least at the beginning.

The next day Liv goes back to the hospital and has another vision. Emily hanging out of a window while two girls warn her that “she” will find her, even if she runs. When Liv shares the news with Clive it leads to a broader search area, and a hit on their female animal control officer, who they interviewed earlier.

While Liv and Clive are sleuthing, Major has tracked down Julian, who he thinks is the Candy Man, only to be taken away by the police after breaking Julian’s car window.

Meanwhile Clive and Liv try to stake out the animal control officer’s house only to be shot at.

Shots Fired!

Clive calls in backup, which leads to Lieutenant Suzuki making an odd command. His team should only enter the building after he gives the command. He ends up getting a bullet as thanks for his act of bravery, and then we see what he really is.

Sukzuki, That Red Eyes Devil

With Suzuki riding his Zombie Rage, the shooters don’t stand a chance. He takes out the husband after using a fridge door as a shield and then guns down the wife in cold blood as Liv is climbing into a nearby tree fort to rescue the other girls the family was keeping prisoner.

The scene at the house ends with Suzuki looking at Liv’s graze wound and commenting that there’s not much blood. He’s not sure, but he at least suspects that Liv is a Zombie just like him.

At the press conference Suzuki blames all the missing teens that Major is tracking as well as Emily’s death on the crazed actions of the game warden and her husband.

While Suzuki is trying to cover up Zombie crimes Major is getting a thank you from the police department for getting the subject into the news.

Maternity Liv ends with Liv on an upbeat note as the camera pans into Ravi’s test room, where there are lots of dead rats, and one Zombie Rat having some rat brain dinner.

Z Nation, Season 2, Episode 7

Down the Mississippi introduces us to the Dentists. Only, they aren’t the good natured dentation fairies they pretend to be. No, they just want to get you strapped into a chair so they can add you to their collection. Why? Well, we’ll find out in a little bit.

Murderous Dentists

Team Murphy meanwhile finds themselves on the Mississippi after commandeering a pontoon boat. They don’t get far before they come across some old friends, Sketchy, and Skeezy.

Sketchy and Skeezy

Those of you who are Z Nation fans will know that Addy’s Z Whacker was purchased from Sketchy. That happened way back in the very first episode, Puppies and Kittens. That kind of makes them family don’t you think?

Zombie Log Jam

Things quickly go south after Team Murphy picks up Skeezy and Sketchy. Skeezy tried to warn them, but not one wants to listen. At least until they are in the midst of a Zombie Jam.

Zombie Jam

With Zombies warming the boat the team is forced to go overboard, and in the process they get seperated.

Sketchy, Skeezy, and 10K end up on one side of the river while the rest of Team Murphy finds themselves on the other. This episode really shows Doc’s character. The others were willing to move on, but 10K is Doc’s friend, and Doc isn’t willing to just leave him behind.

Skeezy, Sketchy, and 10K have a few small adventures culminating with them stealing the empty Dentists vehicle while the drivers are in the woods doing their business. They end driving into a freaky town that uses Zombies as a power source.

This brings the Zero’s into the picture, because when they show up with the Dentists in tow, we realize the whole place is really just a Gangster profit generating tool, and they aren’t pleased that their Zombie Dentist truck was stollen.

Down the Mississippi Scoring

Team 10K is about to get hung for their crimes against the Zero Cartel when Team Murphy whos up with Doc to save their butts. This was a fun, silly episode that focused more on character development than Zombies, but it was so well done it scored an 87/100.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Season 1, Episode 7

Truth or Dare begins with Huck, played by Actress Annet Mahendru who happens to speak six languages, waking with a start.

Tony, Percy’s Uncle knows where there are fuel stores, thanks to some tricks of light, but now the team needs to know where they actually want to go.

Who goes to comfort her? Of course it’s Elton, which just makes her guilt worse.

Using the same trick they used to find the fuel dumps, they find a likely target in New York where Hope and Iris’s dad is.

The kids and the adults both enjoy some alcohol while the younger group plays a game of Truth or Dare. This goes south when Percy asks Hope what the worst thing she’s ever done. She knows she’s killed Elton’s mom at this point, but she’s not willing to say that, so she leaves the group when Percy pushes her.

Flashbacks

While Hope is suffering we see Huck’s flashback to when the apocalypse started. She’s with her team, and they are facing their first zombies. It only takes one exchange for Huck to realize that headshots are critical. She must have watched a few zombie movies in her time.

As Huck is remembering, Hope wanders up to the roof where she bumps into Huck and admits that she killed Elton’s mom. Huck gives some good advice and tells Hope that no one else needs to know the truth. It won’t change anything but make life harder. Better to carry the truth and let the others go on in peaceful ignorance.

The next morning the team heads out to a CRM fuel dump, aiming to get enough fuel to get to New York.

Once inside Huck finds herself facing a hostage situation. Hope has a gun pressed against her head, and her survival depends on what Huck does next.

Huck talks down the hostage taker, and he releases Hope, but continue to holds Huck at gunpoint. We then see what Huck did when she was a Marine. She killed her own troops instead of killing innocent civilians. Then, after taking her hostages gun, and telling her she could save him, she puts a bullet in him, because the reality was he was too far gone.

Momma Drama

Once the team is safe, Tony and Percy tell the team they want to continue on the journey with them. Hope then gets the dagger twisted in her heart when Elton tells her that maybe his Mom is alive, because hey, anything is possible, and Hope has to agree.

As Hope and Huck talk about the pain of carrying the truth without sharing it, we see how Huck got her facial wounds. She did it to herself.

Truth or Dare  ends with Iris waking up, wondering why Percy didn’t come to meet her. When she goes looking for Percy, she finds Tony with most of his face missing. Percy is missing, and Silas is nearby, passed out in a bathroom stall.

Did Silas due the horrible deed? We are going to have to wait until next week to find out.

Truth or Dare Scoring

Truth or Dare scored a 60/100, putting it in Rainy Day territory. The Huck storyline was intriguing, but there just isn’t a lot to the storyline that is generating anxiety at this point. I’m hoping things will get better in the coming weeks.

Black Summer, Season 1, Episode 7

The Tunnel picks up right were Heist left off. Spears and Sun are running from the facility, a huge bag of weapons and ammo in tow.

They are examining their take when the rest of the team catches up to them. William rolled his ankle, but he’s still mobile.

Black Summer

The team is hugging and coming to grips with the fact that they lost Manny in the ductwork when a small horde runs down the haul. The biters are cleared by the two soldiers who we saw at the beginning of the last episode.

The two soldiers tell the team they can lead them through the warehouse and then through the city to the Stadium, but Spears has that look of doubt in his eyes.

Overhead we can hear planes dropping bombs, and when the group reaches a large dining hall, the soldiers call a halt to rest. It won’t be safe to go topside while the bombers are at work.

Rest Time In The Dining Hall

Spears still seems doubtful of the soldiers. The soldiers seem to have a plan, and there clearly bombing runs going on, but its still not clear if the soldiers have alternative motives.

The team lies down to rest, leaving the two soldiers on guard. Sometime shortly after Rose wakes up, hearing noises in the distance. She calls for Spears, but he’s not responding, so she goes in search of the noise. When she finds them, the soldiers have Spears.

Spears, AKA Julius James

Rose finds the truth out about Spears. That his name is really Julius James. Apparently the soldiers think he knows where loot is. It’s never really explained exactly what that might be, who cares about money in a world full of biters?

What does Rose do? She blows away the two soldiers and frees Spears, because regardless of what his name is, they’ve been surviving together and she trusts him.

Spears and Rose go back to the main group, and tell them its time to move. Time to go outside. They have to get to the Stadium.

Once outside the old man whistles a few times, seeing if he can call anything to him, and amazingly, his dog comes running. The old man just walks away. He’s been surviving on his own, and I guess he wants to keep it that way.

Walking Away

Thus ends The Tunnel, setting us up for the season finale.

The Tunnel Scoring

The Tunnel scores an 83/100. It is Worth Your Time, but it could have had more zombies in it.

See how all Zombie Series rank here!

Z Nation, Season 1, Episode 7

Welcome to the Fu-Bar reunites some old friends. The arms dealers from Episode 1, Puppies and Kittens. They’ve somehow managed to survive, and make it from the east coast to Kansas, while liberating a truck full of weapons in the process.

Welcome to the Fu-Bar has one of my favorite horizon pics. As Addy and Mack are thinking about making a run for it on their motorcycle, they see a vast horde, kicking up a massive dust storm in the distance.

The Zombie Horde In The Distance

Team Murphy finds themselves in a trading town. Warren tries to drink away her sorrows, while 10K plays a fun game of shoot the zombie target, trying to win a 50 cal.

While Team Murphy is distracted with booze and the shooting tournament, Citizen Z tries to warn them, but no one is listening. The horde is coming.

Zombie Horde about to flood Kansas

Things rapidly go to hell, but it was kind of worth it because 10K gets what I think is his first kiss? It’s on the cheek, but its still part of any young man’s sentinel life events.

Welcome to the Fu-Bar Scoring

As the trading post is overrun, Warren comes out of her funk, kicks some *ss, and Team Murphy is back on the road. Mack and Addy are still out on their own however. This was another solid Z Nation episode and scored an 83/100.

Now for the big question? Who wins the Best Zombie Kill this episode?

Sketchy McClain‘s Six Gun Action

Sketchy showing us why he’s still alive. He’s got some real six gun skills.

Sketchy might be, well sketchy, but he knows how to work those wheel guns!

10K Long Distance Mercy Shot

Side Meat gets mercy.

For those people out there asking, “Is this a zombie kill?” Sadly for side meat he’s already been bit at this point. So when 10K shoots him it is both a zombie kill and mercy on multiple levels.

For me, the wheel gun action wins. Let me know if you agree in the comments.

Welcome to the Fu-Bar Scoring

Welcome to the Fu-Bar scores 83/100, making it Worth Your Time.
